Hi all, I've been a longtime JA2 1.13 fan for many many years, and have lurked around The Pit for almost as long, I only post here for the first time as I have become desperate regarding the title issue.
My current version is r8909_g2574 with Wildfire maps, several things turned on like NCTH and New weapon sounds, with much else being left as default, however, in the early game, whenever I try to attack the Drassen SAM site, I experience a crash (I might add, if it's relevant, that I experience the same crash if I offer my surrender, but that was a misclick on the surrender options at the time, and I assumed surrendering barely two days into a campaign was obviously not going to work correctly.)
The crash at the SAM site, the few times I've attempted to play past it, always seems to occur if an explosion happens a few turns into combat. This seems to include accidental mine explosions. Stun grenades work fine thrown by the enemy, but if I chuck a MkII or get one thrown at me, crash.
I've searched the forums to no avail for a similar issue, I have tried the compatibilty fixes just in case, reinstalled different SCI versions, but always have the same crash.
Have I done something wrong implementing the Wildfire maps? (6.07) I really enjoy them and would hate to have to remove that from my experience, but I just cannot fathom how to get around the crash, as it obviously makes game progression pretty difficult past that point. I have not been able to try this at another SAM site in my current playthrough yet, as Drassen tends to be my first takeover.
Please, if anybody has any ideas or needs any more info from me, I will heartily provide and massively appreciate.
