Hey, all;
I'm picking up a game, running JA2_113 (7609 build) and am cleaning up Tixa Prison after assaulting main and basement sectors.
This is my first time with 1.13, and I haven't done AV, AR, or Vengeance mods yet.

I played JA2 1.12 (Vanilla) years ago, but I can remember what I did in Tixa, specifically the Warden's office.
I have Dimitri with this team (MEC 71) but he cannot 1) open the south door of Warden's office, or 2) pick the safe (cabinet);
the locker opens fine - but what does the red button do (other than sound alarm)?
Dimitri's fairly good at repairing.

I have just recruited SHANK and Thor is taking him to Estoni.
Buns has two and others have one key (a shiny key which probably fits more than an ordinary lock), but none of these seem to open the Warden's office south door. In "FANDOM" Dynamo is listed as 'Lockpick (expert)', but he can't open either of these.

Is this a "find a key from a soldier later" situation? Is there anything valuable in the Warden's safe?
Would Trevor or some other "99" MECH be able to open this?

I don't know if anyone else has answered your questions.
By the time you hit Tixa Prison you should have gotten rid of Dimitri. Better have hired Barry and train him in mechanical, he's very smart and can learn fast, or hire Trevor if you can afford him, he can unlock just about everything, including those doors in Alma that need a key card. However, he cannot unlock the door in Orta that leads to the basement, you have to bribe the creepy scientist, 10000 to give you the key card, you can always kill him and get your money back if you're hurting for cash. Or give Skipper, in Estoni, a porn magazine and he's got the same key card. This game is full of surprises happy
The key you need, you get it from the warden's husband Brewster. It's best to enter the sector from the south, keep everyone prone in the bushes, send a stealthy one (i use Shadow, Thor, Reaper or any other stealthy one) to cut the wire, sneak into the house and talk to Brewster, BEFORE initiating combat. He gives you the key to open the south door to the prison building, his wife's office, however, it's a bad choice of action as there are 3-4 guards nearby. Best to shoot through the windows to kill the guards to the southern part of prison and then unlock the door to the office. As for the safe, there is no key, you just need to use anyone with high mechanical and dexterity, even Gus can do it.

Call me sentimental (or worse) but I have a soft spot for Dimitri.
YES, he always loses his way, and can be a terrible shot, but fifteen or more days into a campaign he can repair SOME guns.
And if Blood decides to leave in a huff, Dimitri can throw knives.

I had no idea about Brewster and the key; does he have it after the Prison is taken?
I'm afraid I did the frontal assault, and then sneaking through the north fence and ensconce on the west wing.
And, yes, Trevor (MEC-99) is the better choice, than Dimitri.
I got six good guns (three up and three below, three of them elite sniper rifles) from Tixa, and half need repair -
I can't afford to lose any mechanical mercs (especially if they work for free).

I have thirty of the sixty-soldier counter-attack still to fight south of Alma (Day 17), while fighting 45-soldier that Counter-attacked after I took Chitzena mine (which may have been a mistake with the Alma-situation).
I'm spread thin so I need Dimitri.
He, like Ira and Hamous, give snarky news about a section of Arulco their in, and as I find out, there are still things I need to learn.
Thanks for the info.

Hello again Harveson, Brewster, the Warden's husband in Tixa, has the key and can give it to you if you can sneak inside the house and exhaust all conversation options in Friendly and Direct, even if it seems he's done talking. The key phrase is " You know what ? I don't feel dancing around it anymore. You want my wife ? etc..." and you get the key. I prefer to have the key holder kneeling in front of the door with 2 more guns behind him and the rest covering the 2 windows that are facing the house to the south. One merc prone next to the rock to cover the NE approach and one or 2 facing the west for possible guards that will come running around to check all the commotion. It's a bit tricky, took me some experimentation to control this fight with almost no wounds at all.

Ira gets hate and i don't know why, some say her voice is annoying. I like her and keeping her to the end. She is a cheap medic to begin with and once she gets trained some and her markmanship is above 60, give her a scoped weapon with a bipod and she becomes a very decent shot. I also like to get Miguel for the Squad Leader trait and even Carlos for stealthy/scouting/hunter, whatever the mod is. He is somewhat annoying with his nagging but useful overall.
