Hey everyone. Haven't been around in a LONG time. What's new in the JA world?

Also, are there any new turn-based RPGs out that are worth mentioning?

Besides the Jagged Edge: Hired Guns, have there been any other games that have come out that have resembled JA2?

Hi everyone. Haven't been around for quite some time. Did some reading up on 7.62 and heard that it was a bust because it was so buggy.

I know JA3 remains in perpetual development.

Can anyone recommend anything that's really good that's JA2-ish that's new? (Haven't played anything in a couple of years.)

Try some of the mods being implemented now Rev1. They relly give JA2 a new fire.

I've never really gotten into multiplayer games, primarily because I generally have too much going on in real life to be able to give a game my uninterrupted attention.

What new mods are out that are really good?

Bah, 7.62 gets beat up far more than it deserves. In a nutshell, it's the less flawed sequel to the tremendously flawed Brigade E5. However, just like BE5, after about a year of patches and mods, you'll find a fun little romp.

The BFX mod for 7.62MM can be found here:
http://www.strategyfirst.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43734

Not a great game by any means, but since it almost filled that little JA3-shaped hole in my heart, it's worth a shot.

PS If you're Russian, there's an official expansion "Reloaded" out for 7.62 MM that's supposedly pretty decent.

Just thought I'd bump this question that I posed several years ago, in case anything else has been released in the past few years that's worth mentioning.

Hi Rev , If you can get it cheaply , I'd give Back In Action a try , it's much better than originally thought .

I skipped it and got Crossfire.
I enjoyed it, but agree with most of the criticisms that have been mentioned about it.

Phantom Doctrine is almost a non-combat game. Basically if you failed your stealth, you pretty much failed the mission and whatever comes next is just saving face. Very different from XCOM or JA2. Not a bad game but plays very differently. The missions tend to get a bit repetitive and grindy towards end game, but it is a must-play for a tactics player.
