Hi,
I'm using 2023-07-28 version 1dot13 from GitHub. I installed the game on steam but then copied it to c:\games\jagged alliance 2 gold
Any changes I make to the ja2_options.ini do not get carried into the game. I have tried putting the file in Data-1.13, Data and Profiles\userprofile_JA2113 but no matter where it goes, no settings get carried into the game. Only the settings from ja2_settings are being used. I am testing it by changing the starting cost of imp to $1000 so I can quickly see whether it not it is being used. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I am not using the ini editor and that isn't an option for me anyway on my laptop right now.
The setting that I'm most interested in changing is which mine expires, it hasn't worked on my current save.

First of, instead of that old version, I recommend to use the latest available 1.13
As for ja2-options.ini, no need to move it anywhere. If you want to play 1.13 without any further mods on top, use the ja2-options.ini in Data-1.13 to edit.
I don't get why you wouldn't be able to use the IniEditor, but for editing the ja2-options you can also use a simple texteditor, if that's what you prefer.
Personally, I prefer using notepad++ for that, its search function alone is worth it, imo.
Now, about the starting cash, it's odd that there is even an option for that in your ja2options.ini, that setting has been moved to DifficultySettings.ini years ago.
So, did you may try to use an older one from a former instal?
As for editing ja2options.ini, just open the one in Data-1.13 with an texteditor and use that editors search function with the term "mines" and you should be able to rather fast find the setting about mine shutdowns. Do your edit and save the changed file.
Some changes require a new game, not all can be changed midgame. That could be another reason for you not seeing your changes. Generally, I wouldn't advice to change settings midgame, that's rather prone to cause some odd stuff in most cases (not all, but yeah, better safe then sorry).
