When you load all unentered maps are loaded. Message scrolls in lower left box. Look back. Is P7_B1 there?

My guess is that you have a bad P7_B1.dat file. Maybe extract into a temp directory and try to copy this file over current one. Restart and you should find P7_B1 load.

Luck.

Quite true ... when downloading an interrupt can corrupt the file which was being transferred at that moment ... only needs a few bytes missing to mess it up.
Look at your P7_b1 file ... it should be 334.2K ... if there is a variation you have a corrupt file & some kind soul might zip up & mail you a functioning one.

Not sure if Becoming-Xs installer does a CRC check for data integrity. The other reason for crashing underground maps is regularly a missing Sirtech english 1.01 update. Press 'v' and if the game doesn't say V1.01, you'll have to install the Sirtech update, and start the 'save changes to ub.bat' once after that. Savegames will be unaffected by this. I know that the german 1.01 update still has the underground bug, so it's necessary to use the english update at least on this international version, maybe others too.

@Dr. Quack

Is the Sirtch english update you are refering to "SOG69patch1" cause I have already installed it. My game version is V.1.00 (build 00.11.02).

thanks

No, you need JA2:UB patch 1.01 . You can find it from http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~ja-galaxy/downloads/ub_patches.shtml

@JAT

I already had ubendv101, but thanks anyway. I'm confused on what Dr. Quack meant about start "saved changes to Ub.bat". I'm drawing a blank on what exactly he wanted me to do. The strange thing is (keeping in mind I played the sector on the surface) on the tactical screen, the window list all the added maps but then lists

failed to add map: P-7 then
Map already visited next
Added custom map: P-7_B1 next
failed to add map: P-8 next
failed to add map: P-9 etc. etc.

My point of all this is that it says it failed P-7 yet I entered and played there but then it also says it added P-7_B1 but crashes when I enter???? I must be interpeting what those messages incorrectly. Maybe this added info will help someone come up with a solution. Until then there are more of the enemy to kill without having to go underground, but I wonder what I'm missing! :bawling:

Note: the P-7_B1 file size is 342,268

Hi, I dont know anything about your problem, but in reading over your posts you say you're using v1.00 a couple posts up but now are saying you have the 1.01 UB patch which is not the same as the SOG69 patch, as I understand it. Not trying to give you trouble- just pointing this out cause it seems your havin trouble...just like me most of the time! Smile

You MUST have that patch installed BEFORE installing SOG69...

And if UB V1.01 is not installed yet, you can do it anytime as well. The update replaces the ub.exe which then has to be patched to the SOG69 weapon stats, by double-clicking the "save changes..." file (or simply re-installing SOG69, doesn't matter)

@Longshot
I applied that patch (UB1.01)as a last resort because when playing UB, the ony problem I had was seeing the cut scene at the end of the game. Yes, my version is V.100. Is or was there a special patch for my version?

Thanks to all of you for your advice and tips,unfortunitly it still crashes when entering P-7.B1. I'm sure your advice is correct and its only because my helmet is too tight or my medication needs to be increased :whoknows:

The other, more knowledgeable guys here can correct me if I'm wrong but if you patch v1.00 with the 1.01 patch then you're now playing v1.01! Smile I think...

Ya you are right about the patch. I knew that, I wasn't clear in my explanation in that post! All the attemps and failures have suck the fun out of that Mod. I'm sure the answers are in the help I was given but I must having mental block (brain fart) so after doing everything I tried it again with a saved game with the still getting a runtime error. Last resort is to try a New Campaign. If that reaps the same results then I'll play a surface game. I read all sectors can be reached on foot or copter. Thats something to do til UC is released ( had no trouble with DL Smile ).

Thanks to you all its working!

Thanks to Cycloid Torus, Bearpit, Jat, Longshot and special thanks to you Vurt :ok: Not just for giving the help to fix my game, but more importantly for putting up with my sorry ass excuse for tech skills. Enough of the mushy stuff, I got to make some underground VC life miserable. :ok: :cheers:

Edit: Bigtime sorry to Dr. Quack who i forgot to add to the list Surprised :shake:
