Can you play SOG on the JA2UB Gold disc? If so, do you still have to patch to 1.01?

I got JA2UB Gold and an older version of UB back when it first came out. I have to restart my campaign because of all the bugs first time around.

Which version of UB should I use?

I've had absolutely no problems with my original UB patched up to v1.01. If you've got it handy, you'll probably find less hassles using it over whatever comes in JA2 Gold.

If you wanna play SOG 69, you need patch 1,01. Even if you have JA2: UB "original" with version 1,01 you also need to "patch" it with 1,01 patch. If you don't, last command ( JA2UBweapons.txt converting or something ) doesn't work.

JA2:GE's UB works fine with SOG 69, after 1,01 patch.

Trooper- I have both the original version and the gold version. Both need to be patched to 1.01. I ended up just reinstalling my old version b/c it was much more stable than the gold one for some reason. All in all, I guess I shelled out the money for gold just to show support for JA3 since I really don't use it, I don't think the "enhancements" are worth the instability problems and I can still not get over the fact that they did not even incorporate the patch [end of rant].

I had to end up using the Gold version because for some reason this time around, on my original disc, around the 89% of the download, I got a error loading message for data 117 of speech files in the tileset.slf. I attempted to reload 3 times and kept getting this same message. So I went to the Gold and installed it, patched it, and loaded SOG. So far it is running fine, but that remains to be seen. Already I noticed a slight double qlitch when one VC fired his shotgun at a militia in Tay Ninh.

I just hope I don't encounter all those same bugs like I did the first time around. My patience is extremely thin now.
