Hello,

I just installed SOG and started it up. I read all the FAQ I could find, and think installed it the right way (UB, UB1.01, SOG, SOG Patches).

So I start out - everything looks very Tracona-like. The Recon file is for Tracona. The emails are all about Tracona. I've made my to TayNinh (which is labelled Varrez on the map). After talking to a few people, I have a history file which lists a bunch of blank mission entries for TayNinh. I get the laptop transmitter - a bunch of new emails, all from the original UB.

I'm liking the Vietnam and TOD stuff - I'm just not sure what my mission is. Is something wrong with my install? Am I supposed to be looking elsewhere for mission details and ignoring my email?

Please forgive my new guy questions!

Thanks!

the emails are left overs from UB. your mission should be described in the readme file. you will also find information on the recuitable mercs and other npcs.

Yep. E-mails are from UB, so just ignore them. You can see readme file at http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=32;t=000118

Thanks Shadow and JAT.

From the readme I understand that I needed to head for Tay Ninh first so that I can recruit, arm, and meet my contact. Then it's off to the Iron Triangle.

So it's normal to have no info in the History file? For example, I spoke to Trang and he gave me the mission to retrieve meds from Ben Suc. My History file shows a red entry for Tay Ninh, but with no info. I guess I should get out a pencil to write stuff down!

And it's normal for TayNihn to be labelled Varrez?

I guess I just wanted to make sute that these things don't mean I've got a bad install and that I'll run into more trouble later.

Yep, you cannot get to Iron Triangle without going to Tay Ninh.

Can't remember, but there should read something. Anyway you can write info to paper because history log doesn't tell where entrance to underground is.

"And it's normal for TayNihn to be labelled Varrez?"

On UB that is Varrez and it's quite hardcoded so programmer didn't change that.

Thanks again!

Now let's see... I know there's a pencil around here somewhere...
