I did some research into the repair stopping problem and I have it mostly figured out.

I am pretty sure it is a problem in standard 1.13 too, but is never seen there because of pocket sizes being different sizes in 1.13.

I do not know what it is that triggers it, I think it may be when you hit the amount of time where you are considered actually working on repair, but I am not positive on that one.

The problem is when the trigger happens, the repair kit jumps to the sling slot if the sling slot is open. Apparently you can not repair from the sling slot, so this causes the person to think they are done as if the repair kit runs out. If you put something in the sling slot, it doesn't seem to happen. If you move the kit back from the sling slot it happens again when you sleep and wake up I think (again not real sure on actual trigger).

So if in AFS you make it so sling can not hold toolbox or medbag it will not happen I think. I believe this is why it is not seen in 1.13. The problem is there are few non backpack slots to hold a toolkit or medkit in AFS, and not even really a lot of backpack slots.

So to fix this in AFS without a code fix in the game I think you will need to make it so these kits don't fit in sling. But I think then you will need to make a few more slots in the gear for it.

Thanks DH, ironically v4.47 introduces a Vest LBE to carry each kit. I've changed the kits to size 221 (was 16), which is not as bad as they were when I originally disallowed them from the standard combat pack slot.

Right now there is one combat pack which can carry a single kit, 2x Vests for Medical Kit, 1x Vest for Tool Kit, and most backpacks can carry multiple kits.

Thank you for making the mod, it's really stunning. Although i haven't played the unstable release itself very much (just 5 cities before swithing to AFS) i like the additional items and enhenced item balance Smile


Have a minor issue with the mod:
Some item kits are missing for M.E.R.C. characters, namely
- Walter Yuntz has no kit 5
- Gregory "Spooky" Block has only kit 5 (some clothes)

Wally's Kit 5 was missing a food item. For some reason there has to be something filled into the pocket slots for kits 2-5 to appear. This is not a problem in UC-1.13 as only kit 1 is used, but for this and DL-1.13 I've been using food items to make Kit 5 always appear.

I'll add gear selections to Spooky if he is now appearing in stock v1.13 M.E.R.C. I thought he was left off the roster for players to activate via XML editing as they saw fit.

I dropped a .50 beowolf on the LE901 lower into the game via the map editor to try as a alternate for one of my mercs, I decided not to go that way since it would mean more logistics and went to separate receiver, and when I did it gave an assertion error about the default attachment being unable to be placed back on the item. 5739 in items.cpp, I am deleting it and just moving on, but I thought it might indicate a bigger issue for some items.

I experimented around and come to the following conclusions:
- generally speaking, faces/portraits mod can be installed into Data113 faces
--- if camouflage/face items are activated, but the faces mod doesn't have those pictures, game reads standard pics
- Data113 is subordinate to 'main mod' folder (for example AFS), Data113 is read if 'main mod' doesn't provide own portraits
=> so-to-say, faces/portraits mods should be "fully" compatible to Total Conversions/Large Mods, like for example Urban Chaos or Arulco Folding Stock :cheerleader:

I can correct you.Face mods can be safe installed in DATA directory not data-1.13.All playing in Ja with Ron's faces i always install them to DATA directory.Andi have no any troubles(just switch off camo faces in options only)


A question to wil:
Is hard to modify this mod by player to play with Wildfire maps?Sorry for my repeating this question,i asking this because wildfire maps with AFS is not playble because of mes of junk on the maps.

I don't know what you mean by safe but if any other profile folder has mercenary faces in it it will override the faces in your "data" folder because of the VFS precedence. In this case;

Data-AFS > Data-1.13 > Data

Maybe it should be Data-graphics instead of Data-AFS. I don't have AFS installed right now and i'm not sure.

Always install Ron faces mod to data directory-Ron face only overwrite standart faces from AIM,IMp,NPC,RPC etc.And work very well.That's i say it can be installed to DATA directory.

This looks like the bug (forgot to update the lowers for the new NCAP scheme) that was fixed in v4.47. I could not replicate it in the current build for v4.47.

Additional changes before I finalize the mod for tomorrow, the IoV Throwing Axe graphics have been replaced by a smaller "Tactical Tomahawk" which fits the small graphics slots. The final throwing axe will fit more pockets than the machete sized one of the RC.

Raven's Kit 4 sports a full set of Striker armor, as well as Striker LBE. The LBE is attached to the armor. Could you please detach them and put them in the LBE chest/leg slots ?
While the other items that Raven has (for example ammuniton) are correctly stored in the LBE, she doesn't have any LBE pockets apart from her backpack. Meaning: ammo and food and such are "there but shadowed", if you pick them up you can't put it elsewhere apart from the backpack.
Reason is: the game engine doesn't read LBE slots from armor/armor slots, only from LBE gear slots.
It's an engine limitation that's a bit confusing the first time one sees it - and if the engine won't be changed that it reads LBE from armor, it might be best to put the LBE in their slots.
What do you think ?

Engine limitation and a bug - mercs hired from A.I.M. and M.E.R.C. seem to arrive with attachments already attached, so if the LBE could fit the armour you end up with the issue seen with Raven. However Raven's armour is actually a copy of the "real" Striker armour where the attachment definitions should have been removed. Fixed in the final release of v4.47.

Nope, the SCI when I was putting it all together was SCI_Unstable_Revision_6232_on_GameDir_1704. I've also run all three under SCI_Unstable_Revision_6234_on_GameDir_1709 - long enough to generate screenshots for the ModDB uploads I finally found time to do today.


EDIT: oh, looks like I didn't update a few of the posts with the correct SCI at release...

I'm going to say wrong gun. You can turn .223 Remington into something that fits 5.56x56mm by converting the magazines to crates, then item transforming the crate. These ".223 in a NATO chamber" magazines will scale down the capabilities of the weapon.

About the fact that the repair kit dissapears from the hand it happens to me also it has to do with them having the weapon on the other hand. If you put it manually as the only thing on hand no problem there. It doesn't happen with medkits though... It appeared from a revision and never dissapeared i just learned to deal with it.

I cannot escort John and Mary =( they do not recognize Drassen airport. I usually escort them to helicopter like with Skyrider, but neither walk to helicopter nor walk to airplane works.

I bought water drum, walked away few seconds and returned + 40 strengts +2 exp level.
I think it would be good if merc would lose hp points and/ or agility if carries >300% weight

Ah, I knew there was something I forgot to update. It shouldn't be too critical (game crashing), but if you wish copy the three XML files from the current ...\Data-1.13\TableData\Email to ...\Data-AFS\TableData\Email

Or if you're not planning on doing any merc editing just delete ...\Data-AFS\TableData\Email so that the SCI's XML's take over.

This works for DL-1.13 as well, accounting for the different mod folder. Do not do the above for UC-1.13 as all the emails have been updated for UC specific needs.

I copied those files.

I have the bug I saw in previous versions too:
if ambushed - after a fight in map view you see your mercs have destination even the are not moving from sector to sector.

That is not how I intended to implement the bullpup AK's. Is this actually a characteristic? Additionally, does this mean that other bullpup's need to be reexamined?

I have no own experience with it but it is said, that the weight being more in gun's rear shows a tendency for more muzzle climb (compared to same gun in conventional design). But lower weight in total and having less weight on the positioning arm is said to make stabilizing aim faster/easier.
As a result, IMVHO, this may balance itself so that leaving the values identical to the convential version in this regard in your mod would be fair implementation.
