Installed from JA2 classics pack; then set up a UC 1.13 mod, the new version based on SCI7205.

Downloaded the 162 xml editor, renamed the original app and backend so the 2 files in the 162 archive are used.

when starting the xml editor regular or admin the following error occurs:
unhandled error- paraphrase: report this error

Error:
Input string was not in a correct format.

the version shows 0.103
current dir: data-1.13
gunchoices_enemy_admin.xml

advice?? Tshooting steps?

Verify that the indexes are integers and not decimals. There are a couple of entries where uiIndex was written
1.0
instead of the proper
1
thus the error.

Also, if you want to modify the UC data, you will need to edit XMLEditorInit.xml and modify
Data-1.13
to the UC one.

while loading xml files: GunChoices_Enemy_Admin.xml

This xml is not altered and from the latest svn download. The folder XmlWorkingData was deleted ahead of the first start of the new xml editor. Installed Mod is the today svn version of 1.13.

Hope someone can help?

XML data is incorrect. There is most likely a 1.0 instead of 1, which throws the parser off. Remove the .0 part and the editor should work.
If this is not the case, upload the offending xml file somewhere and I'll take a look at it.

Edit: Line 608, replace
0.
with
0
Same thing with Gun_Choices_Militia_Green.xml

Well it seems I was a bit too quick with writing everything works fine with the 0.104 version of the editor ....

After editing the file ItemChoices_Enemy_Regular.xml via the xml editor the enemys didn't get any items at all. I checked the files and after the edit the second line was changed from to regularLIST> too.

I am currently running the game exe 7337. There was no error message at the start of the game exe after the change. As far as I have seen there is no game exe version higher than 7337 for dl on the skydrive.

Is this only for the ItemChoices_Enemy_Regular or for other xmls as well? I may have missed a case, will take a look asap.

Hi,

first the most importand thing:

JMich
Bug identified and (hopefully) squashed. Grab the editor here.

Yes, the editor from your link has not this bug!!

I tested it a bit further and the svn version has this problem with all item choice related xml files, your version not!

While I was testing editing the inventories with the xml editor I had an idear for further improvents: at the moment it is not possible to open for example the enemy item xml for regular enemies and elite enemies at the same time. (It is only possible to open one type at the same time, to edit the other you have to close that window first) Also it is quite hard to keep this files apart because when opened they are named the same in the header. Maybe it is possible to use the file name to keep them apart inside the editor?

greetings and thanks a lot for squishing this bug that fast!!

Well if I remember correct you need a file first called German.Items.xml which should be placed in the folder your mod\TableData\Items\

unfortunately I have only an old file (from 2009 something) and didn't find it on the svn anymore

The xml syntax was:

I just tested the old file but it didn't work anymore ... sorry maybe someone else can tell you more ... you definitely need language specific files first, which are not in the svn download at the moment ...

Delete XmlWorkingData folder under the your profile data folder (for vanilla 1.13 it's: Data-1.13\XmlWorkingData)

Also a request for XML Editor; If editor fails to start then it should ask user to delete working data folder and restart.

Will (eventually) add said notice, but the XML Editor works with the impression that all edits will be done from within the editor.

Error:
Failed to enable constraints. One or more rows contain values violating non-null, unique, or foreign-key constraints.
This means that numbers used in one of the XMLs cannot be found in the other. I think the child values are in ammochoices and the parent is the items.xml, so do items 2092 to 2101 exist in items.xml? If yes, follow Gambi's advice.

And if you do manual edits, then set the Use_Working_Directory to false.

Thanks for advice, I manually changed some values using wordpad which seems to have added some random items at the end of the item list, from now I only use notepad ++ for manual edit.

Can anyone advise me on what's causing this?

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z360/_Hawkeye/XML_AIMNAS_zpsb3c3f514.png

I've recently updated to the latest 7435 release with 7609 update.

Have deleted all my old cache files, but the XML editor crashes with this warning screen when I try and change my Data Directory to Data-AIMv53 of which Vengeance uses.

Message: Input string was not in a correct format.
Most likely a data error. What file is the one causing it?
There used to be a problem with some of the item choices, mostly that the number used was 0. instead of 0 and that caused all kinds of trouble. If that's not the case, upload the bad xml and I'll take a look at it.

I can't tell at the moment, as the XML editor won't actually get anywhere to indicate which file is causing the issue.

Vengeance uses a hybrid AIM NAS item suite, but we didn't have any issues until the 7435 release with 7609 update.

The Editor splash screen should be showing what file it's currently reading, though the error message usually covers the splash screen. Buggler did send me a copy of the files, so I'll take a look at them.

Edit: GunChoices_Enemy_Admin.xml and GunChoices_Militia_Green.xml, in line 352 change
0.
to
0
That should fix it.

Data-1.13\TableData\Lookup\ExplosionType.xml is missing the value 12 (and value 11 as well), which tells the editor what kind of explosion the explosive has. Edit it by hand (notepad, notepad++, wordpad etc) and add the extra key.
