Shadow is a bit gruff on the picture. Smile
If you click it you will be redirected to the official JA2 page.

@Strato,

Yeap, the webpage is under construction.

In my article (link above) I was reflecting about new JA3 website adress. I have also discover two interesting things. :hat:

1. The http://www.ja3.ru domain was registered at 26 April 2006 by Akella. Very Happy

2. The http://www.jaggedalliance.ru domain was registered at 31 January 2007 by... Game Factory Interactive (JAZZ: Hired Guns).
And that's wird Surprised ...

Not if you consider them wanting absolutely to keep the name, as the abbreviation JAZZ implies ... That must be rather annoying for Strategy first and will probably confuse a lot of people, at least in Russia and at the beginning. After, people are not blind. But they may not all be curious though ...

If or when GFI will move to the english part of Internet for JAZZ, then it shall become really weird. But i suppose it will be a risky move for them and we'll probably not see anything serious.

And for new JA3 website, the domain has been registered a good time ago (+/- 6 years) ; let's hope they soon open something with more content than a rough artwork Smile Even more artworks would already be great, if not better than screenshots.

@ Oddball : that's a good thing that JA2 website is still running. That said, the game has recently moved to Steam, so, it would have been surprising they let the website goes down, even if i'm not sure if Steam brings a lot of new customers ...

Now http://www.jaggedalliance.ru is dead and http://www.jaggedalliance3.com/ send you back to the old JA 2 website. Strange, isn't it ?

They have by their silence. The people who created Hired Guns got fired from the JA3 project initially (hence Hired Guns), but it was outsourced to another company who have given it back to the HG team.

The website of whoever has it now. They said the dev team is the same as the guys who did HG, but this time they get to play with the SS engine rather than their own one...

Think you have your unknown Eastern niche developers mixed up Wink

GameFactory Interactive (Publisher) and MistLAND South (their dev) was asked to make JA 3D and JA 3. They were from the Ukraine, afaik.
MistLAND South lost both contracts, and continued to code JA 3D as Jazz: Hired Guns.
Gamefactory Interactive dissolve and incorporate MistLAND South.
JA 3 is farmed out to Akella (Publisher) and F3Games (their dev)(Contains staff from Nival who made Silent Storm) Russian company.

In June 2008 Akella had to fork out a lot of cash to SFI and had the option to buy the Jagged Alliance distribution rights for another lump sum. The F3 website is host to a worm/virus (DO NOT GO THERE TO CHECK FOR YOURSELF!) and no information whatsoever is heard about JA3 again.

Thanks for correcting me on that, however I thought a lot of the MistLAND crew were re-hired by F3Games (seem to remember a blog about it a while ago when I cared!). Ah well if that's the case then JA3 is still screwed!

According to Disciples 3 fans, ownership of that game was transferred to Akella in August.

At SFI, there is absolute radio silence, with both Warmaster and Richard Therrien long gone. I think it's safe to assume the game is dead, once again, especially after all information about JA3 was removed on the Akella site recently.

I think it's safe to say that we won't be seeing JA3 until something magical happens once again, but then again, the franchise might very well be cursed.

OR it'll come to the point where a Fan or many fans of the game purchase the IP and rights to the JA series from SFI. That is what I am hoping for Smile

I'm holding my breath for Silverstar's Q2 2009 financial report. Expect that around Valentine's day.
