Just wondering what sort of demand for new portraits are?

I will post all links to downloads from this post.

And that got me to thinking what sort of portraits would people want?

I have a couple I am doing at the moment which are more of a laugh than the usual list of Film Stars that people have done (tho there have been some great ones for other mods).

I was also thinking of doing a full Anime portrait mod for the game as it would add a different flavour to the game (obviously just a mod not to be made standard Very Happy ). Just thoughts so let me know what ya think.

Concerning Ron, I had a very short contact through a 'middleman', but have not heard again from him for quite some time, too.

well don't take hollywood stars or any other well-known faces, mostly the voices just don't match and in general it's not very original. and if your favorite AIM merc suddenly has the face of an actor you simply hate (like gus with the face of the hulk) you'll probably delete the pics immediately.
also don't use science fiction stuff like those cyborg implants someone made because doesn't fit into the game in my opinion.

however a set of anime pics would be interesting, as long as you don't go down the pokemon/DBZ road Wink
i also saw some pics of remade RPCs, for example dimitri had a cigar in his mouth, a green army cap and was pretty dirty all over his face (can't find the link though). that seemed to be the right direction and style in my opinion.

I understand where you are coming from. I will probably do a few pics and put them into packs so you can install the ones you like and not have the ones you don't like Very Happy

Also any "hollywood pics" would be accompanied by voice sets for the character imaged (ie if its Morpheus you get Morpheus quotes and not just any Lawrence Fishbourne quotes).

As for the Anime the style would be like that used in Last Exile/Bleach/Robotech(film)/Gundam Seed etc. Not silly stuff!!!

I will be doing some funny sets tho to add some extra humour to the game Very Happy

As for personals I can do them if wanted but I want to focus on some of the characters I have in mind before I do them. Will get round to them eventually but as I am doing voice sets too it takes a bit more effort.

Here's a preview of my next one (funny one for kicks Very Happy)

err actually i meant hulk hogan, not "the hulk" ^_^

anyways just if you use voice samples from movies, this might be a copyright issue so you should check that before you publish anything.

It doesn't breach copyright as I am not attempting to sell the resulting creations. I'll just stick a disclaimer in the readme for them when I pack them in rar format. Thanks for the concern tho Crusher.

Anime faces will receieve their own voice sets too!

Basically if I create a pack they will all relate to each other. For the Anime it will probably end up being a full conversion of the characters. Which will mean edt editing (urgh!) unless of course the text and other event settings are externalised Very Happy

Does anyone have a list of all the different lines for the sound files. I am editing Fox at the moment and she has the extra lines for not liking insects. But is there a complete list for all lines used? Perhaps Bearpit or any of the UC crew may have one?

don't be overwhelmed. not every character uses each and every of those lines. MERC chars for example don't use the phone and contract renewal lines

but RPC's can have additional npc speeches (but have no phone/ contract renewal speeches)

yeah I released it way back in 2004. It was called JA2:MW which stood for Modernised Weapons. Mainly just a little weapon mod for better pics of P90's and added more H&K's etc...

Wasn't too big a hit but I did make a total sounds mod for all the guns too which was huge to download :s

I found it the other day actually but compared to tbirds guns and a lot of the 1.13 weapons mine are a bit old school (pics straight to game with darkening to fit colour palette of original MDGUNS.STI). Ah well it was what made me come back to the forums Very Happy

I already sent them to Starwalker. However he already has all the calibres covered that I made sounds for.

I did suggest using them as temps tho if they are different to the ones he has...

Did you want them cos I'll upload them if you do?

Also please try out my portraits (I think one of the mouth anims looks bad but the rest are good) Will edit that asap and tell me what you think Very Happy

I just found it languishing at the bottom of Page 9 of the Other User Made Campaigns forum.

I just remembered I made proper reload sounds too. I wonder if I sent them to Starwalker?

reload sounds? the game only uses a very small number of those, right? but they should be customisable in weapons.xml

i was playing a mod the other day where you have to "lock'n load" your guns, and the enemies all of them also lock'n load them. I think the game uses by default only a small number of LNL and reload sounds. Given the big number of guns, more such sounds wouldn't be wrong.

Starwalker did get them all. However I had to make them by calibre not to the individual guns. I have no idea what the originals were from now as I did it in 2003 (checked the post dates!!!).

Here are all the reloads separately tho:
