Thanks, I use IMP Editor, it just seems to have some problems with the New Inventory.

Doesn't anyone use the imp editor anymore?

Except for the fantom items and hermaphoditic females I've never had any problem with this program. Since I don't use female imps and I can easily trash the fantom items these problems are negligible.

EDIT

Oyy, there's my answer then. At least someone is using that beauty.

I only had to adjust a small ammount but no crashes whatsoever.

The only time I ever had such a crash was with a missing file or an enormous sized file when doing stis. That's weird. Are you sure you didn't do anything else?

I mainly posted that stuff so you wouldn't worry about doing that if you ever had to. It's always worked for me.

I generally try to mimic Ja2 stis especially when it comes to faces because I want to use a lot of the 'stock' characters as completely intact as I can (doing a WW2 mod I of course have very different biographies and have even omitted a very few AIM dudes to maintain the 40s 'feel'). I was very happy to do an sti from a picture that looked very similar to Ja2s style.

I believe I will be fine tuning this one in the comming weeks to make it look even more Talonsoft but having such raw material to work with was cool especially since it was a specific request.

Sorry for gassing on in your thread Kaerar. I seldom get anything done without a lot of noise.

@Khor:
Here comes my opinion:
The face itself is very good, only there are some grey pixes at right ear and above right eye (on the left side of picture). Then the hair looks a bit strange, it should be a bit..how should I say..not so Len-like, something a bit messy Smile It should look similar to Madlab's hair, or maybe something like Elliot...only black with silver shade near ears as it already has. And I think his shirt should look something like this:

Are you talking about the bigface picture?

This was the one I had to piece together using (you guessed it) len's upper forhead since that was missing in the picture I had to work from.

Send me a picture of the top of that guy's head and I can make it a lot closer. I am not familliar with wherever you got that from.

I already redid the big picture. I have not fixed the face stuff you mentioned but the green area next to his left ear is now gone and his shirt doesn't look so gooberish.

Send me a top of head picture and I'll fix it.

I might be able to work that shirt in but let me send you the one I have already done. But bear in mind that you will only see a small part of the top of it so I don't see where it matters all that much.

As for the hair you are going to have to elaborate or point to an example (do you really want his hair to look like Elliot's) and I can work this in.

Let me know either through these boards or by e-mail.

O.K. Madlab hair in spandex and another one on the way.

Let me know if there are any more problems with the face.

When I get to where I feel it is finalised I will send it to you if you like.

I have to say I'm pretty happy with them now so I might just do some shading work.

If your imaging program has an erase function you could just place one image on top the other and erase to produce the desired effect.

If you want even more skintone added to the greenish hues you could try using the darkest brown in the colorise brush at 10% and paint it in. Remember the undo redo keys are your best friend here.

It's a shame STI edit doesn't have a few more built in imaging features. Clone and erase would be very cool.

I just copied the half of the face with your shades and it seems to do the job, I'll post it over here

EDIT: And I erased the logo on the shirt

So here it is, the Sam Fisher (in fact sort of a joint work of me and Khor, but as Khor did most of the job, I give all the merit to him, he deserves them) made by Khor:

Since I'm most likely adding this (with a different shirt) to the WW2 mod I have to thank you with providing me with an image in a very close format to Ja2s existing ones.

You'd be surprised how hard it is to find images that adapt that easily.

I'm still looking for female images because the ones I have are taken from actual actresses so while they work pretty well, they don't seem to compare to things like this or action figure heads.

For some reason female action figure heads don't adapt as easily as male ones. In fact, I only have one from that source that comes close.

Alright, just tried it out ingame and it has some spots the game considers transparent, so the big picture looks a bit weird. On the other hand, the small pic is very good and lip movement works fine as well. Only sometimes his eyebrows move strangely...

A lot of times the game reads browns or blacks as transparent. I really only game tested the first two I did.

Try replacing the palette (using the import palette button on the bottom left of the STI Edit interface screen) to the picture you are using. You can get the palette right from the .bmp image.

If this doesn't work I'll figure out what is wrong and correct it.

Let me know.

It reads the 1st and last colours of the colour palette as invisible. So put blue 255 in position 1 and red 255 in position 256 and you have no transparency issues. Took me a while to work out why I was getting transparency on Selene the first time.

As for me not having classic JA2 style I agree totally Very Happy I dislike it as the faces look like they are cobbled together from pieces a lot of the time. So I prefer to have more realistic faces.

I have another version of Sam Fisher on the way (this one from his latest outing in Conviction) and a couple of others.

I have been messing with Coolbergs original SL8 (which was actually the American Grey SL8-1) and came up with a few others. The others are going to be uploaded later. But here is the original production version for Germany in White (more of a showcase as the majority were black) but this was the original with the ability to take parts and mags from the G36 series (everything except the actual trigger group leaving it single fire only).

I thought I would have a crack at a more detailed Barrett and also bring in a few more interesting large calibre rifles. So here are the Scoped and unscoped versions of the XM500 (unveiled in 2006) and the M95 in .416 calibre. This M95 uses the semi-automatic setup from the M107 (M82A1) as a testbed for the XM500.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/6975/barrettm95andxm500pb7.jpg

After reading the NVG thread I thought I would have a go at the GRAW helmet as future warrior type helmets were mentioned. So here is a quick version of it:

http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/1644/grawhelmetvi5.jpg

and here's another version:

http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/8863/grawhelmet2xd2.jpg

I got very bored with the original PDW ingame as it is a rip of the only known model of the gun (which was just a wooden model too). So I revamped it a bit and made it look more like a production model (based off the original shape):

G11 PDW in White and Black

Here are the latest additions:

I said I was going to do the LMG11 and here it is. I only had the rather poor black and white pic from HKPro to go from but I think it turned out quite well.

H&K LMG11 Prototype

and here is a pic of my current G11 family:

http://i101.imagethrust.com/i/697426/myg11family.jpg

Just my remake of the actual G11 itself to go now, seeing as my previous work was just modifying. This time I am going to do it from scratch in this style.
