Hey, i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I will be playing and when i go to jump down to the square (to tactical mode) it will sometimes take up to 30 seconds to actually do the "jump". Other times it may do it instantly like it is supposed to. It is really annoying. This problem also occurs on saving games. I am running vista ultimate in compatibility mode for windows 2000 (ja).

Help!

Do you mean the zoom-in effect when going from map screen to tactical to enter a combat? If yes, then the problem is as follows: There are two threads involved. One increments a global time counter and the other runs in a loop and draws the zoom effect depending on how much time has passed according to the global time counter. Of course this setup is broken by design and what you experience is, that the thread, which increments the time counter, gets starved by the other thread and therefore updates the counter way too slow. I solved this particular problem in my project JA2-Stracciatella by not using this pseudo-clock (r1426). Of course this pseudo clock should be removed completely, but this requires more work.
