Sorry wenn i tell you this.
(Lets review; load in this order, ja2, 1.13. at this point i would suggest start the game to make sure of good install. then install renegade republic, right click, unzip to c:\program files\strategy first\Jagged Alliance 2. Now open folder Jagged Alliance 2 and you should see at least two exes. one of which will be B17. start game with this EXE. If that is good then load any patches you may have .)
Works fine.
Wenn add the patches it goes wrong.
the order should be, addition1, faces, hotfix1, NIV patch. NOTE: these all expand to JA2 main directory.
I did it like you say it but still have the items wrong

Well I am sorry that I am of no help. I tried to list things in a way that would let you track your progress as you went through the install process so you could easier identify when and where things went wrong.
Did you 1. change the ja2 INI file to read data-renegade instead of data 1.13?
2. move the data-renegade folder from rr to JA2 main folder?
3. try to start the game with each of the exes, there should be several.

ok you are making progress. slow down.
JA2.ini was:
CUSTOM_DATA_LOCATION = Data-Renegade THIS IS CORRECT.
this tells the exe where to find the game you want to play.
just a thought; it might be easier to get the game running first, then mess with custom IMPS later.

I found out that when you have a weapon(generally any item) with an "invisible" attachment, you have to:
1. double click on the "invisible" attachment
2. flag the item as attachment
I found this "bug" mostly in scopes and rifle accessories
And my last post - maybe I'm using outdated XML files. I just wanted to inform you about "bugs" I found. I'm not sure which version of XML files is the latest one :whoknows:

questions
1. lockie, oldnoob: do you get wrong armours too? do you get wrong ammo/ magazines too?
2. blue_fox: do you use something i should know? like a german version of 1.13 or somesuch?
advice
i don't know who made what .7z file. i didn't make or release that file so whenever stuff like this including outdated patches make the way into your installs, you're using them at your own risk.

no.
there are other hosts that had outdated versions of the RR to NIV patch online. i don't control any hosting or mirroring except for patches from my site (the ja2 vengeance freewebs site)
i was asking if you guys get wrong magazines when unloading weapons, e.g. when unloading the type 65 or the gepard.
see the xml's in questions are correct so there must be something specific that is missing/ wrong. I have a feeling it may be related to the language specific files.

I asked a couple of days ago if it would be possible for you to combine addition1, faces, hotfix1,NIV patch into one. Would that be possible?

JA2_v1.13_Release_(EN)_[1.0.0.2085].exe
So the problem can be in the .7z file?
Have another problem with Wildfire 6 and NIV. Why they use open source packers?
I ask it again.
I tried it with ja2 Dutch version & ja2gold.
svn 1.13, ja2RR b17 zip (downloaded 6/22/2008),addition 1 zip (same date),hotfix 1 zip (same date), TableData_RR_07_2008 zip, RR to NIV patch rar.
Tabledata_rr_07_2008.zip is certainly wrong. While the RR to NIV patch shoudl have fixed most mistakes you get from it, i still advise to only install my mod and my patches
i don't know this .7zip file. Thus i can't say if you get errors from there. You normally shouldn't given the RR to NIV patch should fix most/ all of them even if there were any.
So i guess you have most necessary files, but there might be an installation mistake or something. Please see the other threads in the part of the forum, as oldnooob and lockie have had a lot of questions and the solution to your problem might be in there somewhere too.
I'm not going to merge any patches right now. I may merge once i have the feeling that this latest NIV patch is properly debugged and the overall gain is worth the trouble.

Scorpion, PLEASE, I sent you a screenshot the other day showing a runtime error. Will you please tell me where to find a fix for this? I just reinstalled RR this morning and I ran the game after each step to identify problems and all steps were fine up until after I extracted the (latest)rrniv patch. so now I have three complete RR installations with the same error and I don't know where to look to find the right file or whatever. tile.pcx is nowhere to be found in any of my data files anywhere. A simple response would be very much appreciated.

Oh but I did. and I have reloaded this whole thing many many times during the last week and now I cannot even get the damn thing to eliminate this even with the simplest basic installation which is what I completed just this morning. just gold, svn, rr, data-renegade moved to ja2 directory, hotfix1 extracted to data-renegade, faces extracted to data-renegade, hotfix1 extracted to data renegade, RRNIV (latest 8/6/2008) patch extracted to ja2 folder. run exe2124, hire Ivan, fire off 40mm vogt, runtime error.
If you would be so kind to simply suggest somewhere to look for the missing file or tag or whatever I could then try to recreate it. I have right now three games with this problem and i have deleted and reinstalled many, many, files and folders trying to create a workable game without this problem. who can play JA without explosives?
This will be the last time I ask for your assistance.

see my post above. newlargeexp.sti and newsmallexp.sti data-renegade/tilecache folder.
i think it was pretty explicit there.
these missing files are the ones causing the error message on your screenshot (same with the mortar)
they're supposed to be part of the latest patch. Please let me know immedately if they aren't. That's the third time i give this advice. once through email, twice in this thread.

lol my xml sais the vog-25p uses "blow.sti" for an animation
now oldnooob sent me a screen, he clearly has this animation. so what the hell is wrong?
i'll need more time to find out what that's all about. same with armours and the like. I'll see to it that it can be fixed like next week or so. i'm puzzled with the variety of different feedback i get concerning this patch.
