This first post will contain a changelog and additional informations for the released multiplayer version.

Bugs Fixed

In a Deathmatch and Team-Deathmatch game each client should start per Default in a separate map edge, if not RANDOMISE STARTING EDGE is choosen by the server
In a CO-OP game, no teams should be selectable ("N/A")
In a Team-Deathmatch game there must be at least 2 different teams, before the server can start on

especially the 6th man instability thing i mentioned in the other thread.

it kept us from effectivly playtesting the 6man teams. the medipack freeze probably was a false positive though.


btw. i don't want to cluster your release thread. mods feel free to move this post to where it fits (once rowa21 has read it, that is)


*edit*

you may have to try finishing an entire battle of 6vs6 "random mercs" mode. i don't think we've ever been able to finish one such game. if you and others can, then maybe it's a specific issue for our installs.

I've installed MP V 1.0. when i start the programme i get a runtime error. File .\sgp.cpp
Any ideas?

Do you have the file vfs_config.ini in the install directory?
Do you have the directory Profiles/UserProfile in the install directory?

OK, you have to copy all files and directories from the zip archive into your install directory

- Extract the zip file into your JA2 installation directory. Overwrite any existing files
- Delete the old "ja2_mp.ini" inside your JA2 installation directory, if the file exists
- The new "ja2_mp.ini" is now located in the "Profiles/UserProfile" folder
- Start the game with "JA2_MP_EN_v1.0.exe" (English version) or "JA2_MP_DE_v1.0.exe" (German version)

i downloaded 1.13 from another source..not the turtle/tortoise one. As far as I know it's the most recent update. Any other way I can update? It was the old error report message that popped up...so I dunno if a virus or something has got me.

I have the "Jagged Alliance 2 Gold Pack *German* installed. And everything in the order made.
English and German "GameDir" out via SVN. English files added. Then the German files, and then the multiplayer archive.
But if I start JA2. So just a "Blackscreen" and then jumps back to the desktop. Game does not start.

What can i do?

Thanks for any help!

You have to use latest SVN version together with MP v1.0, otherwise it will not work.

EDIT: Take a look here how to update JA2 1.13 (German) with SVN:

In Profiles/UserProfile, is there one of the following files?
vfs_init.log
exception_init.log
exception_game.log

In your install directory, is there a file vfs_config.ini? If yes, what does it say? Before you post the contents, could you look whether the referenced directories and files exist.

Where are the .log files? In the install directory or in the Profiles/UserProfile directory?

could you delete the .log (exception_*.log and vfs_init.log) files and start the game again. It is possible that the exception*.log files were created earlier (before you have updated via SVN).

Is this a german version? Is there a german.slf in /Data?

I can confirm the crash. There is also no Data\Into.slf for the German version. It should be removed from vfs_config.ini. After splash screen occurs it crashes. I have to build a German Debug version and see where the problem occurs.

The game crashes on a German build in jascreens.cpp::InitScreenHandle().

It crashes in line 477 -> (logger << iniErrorMessage).endl();

In Debug I noticed that a HAM settings (ja2_options.ini) was not correctly set, so it should output INI logging error to the user, but than it crashed in line 477.

EDIT: Then I corrected the wrong INI Settings and the game moves further. Then it crashed again in SaveLoadGame::InitShutDownMapTempFileTest(). In Line 6547 -> if( FileExists( zFileName ) )
it checks if a temp file exists in the path "Spielst
