Lexx that would happen because the default for the map editor is the Data-1.13 dir rather than your Data-Lexx dir (example only!). If you place your item in your one and set the default mod file using the INI editor then you'll use your gfx ingame Smile

Hmm. There is a setting for default path the mapper should use too? I thought it always uses maps from /data/ and maybe other additional stuff from /data-1.13/. Also if I change default mod path in ja2.ini to my mod, it seems like the editor also takes stuff from binary data, tilesets, etc.

Yeah it does. Personally I'd actually set the editor up with it's own JA2 install separate from mods and other things (if you need items from a mod then place them in the 1.13 folder rather than a custom folder).

That way you have one install for testing your mod (just move the maps across as they get done) and one for making the maps.

Hmmm I have a new problem. Smile

I wanted to add new graphics but not as new sti and jsd files because the amount of usable graphics in one map is already very limited (I hate this limit. No chance to change it somehow?). That's why I wanted to edit a already existing sti file that comes most closest with the color pallete.

So... my aim was to edit the switches.sti because this graphics are used nearly everywhere. Adding my new graphics is no problem. Also the colors work pretty nice. Editing the jsd file with the dotNetJsdEditor worked too although I can't understand most of the russian- that's why I looked at other objects and took the values 1:1.

Anyway.. this all works good. Now to the problem.

If I open up the mapper and select them, I see the images there like they should be. But as soon as I try to place them, they change to a roof tile and I don't know why. Has someone a idea or two?

/edit: By the way... I use two JA2 installations now too. One for mapper and this stuff only and one for the rest of the mod. Works pretty well. Smile

Why do you want to place so many bananas in your maps? :/

Looks like you've gone over the limit for decal so it picks up the next object in the next group which happens to be a roof tile.

Use JA2TSE. Open Decal on the tileset in question and you see the limited numbers of named sti's. There is no reason why a decal sti can't be made from four frame to eight frame though.

I just see the names of the graphic used in the decals slot. I edited graphic 119. (9 Firstswitches).

If it is the case that I can't add as much graphics as I want... I think I need to overwrite other.
