Two questions for those in the know.
Magic is at level 7 and has a Agility of 99. I would like him to train Gumpy, in Agility, who is level 6 and is at 76 Agility, but they both blink red when I try to do this. Magic is 23 points above Gumpy, in Agility, and one level higher, soo, what gives here?

When training in Marksmanship, at the Alma range, does one have to actually place the Merc's on the range itself, or just have them in the sector?

1. afaik the trainer has to have more brains than the trainee (differs to the subject trained)
2. training limit is 85
3. have them in the sector is enough

You need to be in the sector with the shooting range, in 1.13 it is the top left sector (I think). Not sure in WF, probably the same. With HAM this can be defined, look in the XML how Headrock did it.

WHAAAAT? You can train mercs at shooting range? I've never heard about it! Do they simply learn faster or what?

There's a section about skill-training in the 1.13 JA2-Options.ini where there's this sort of information Smile You can edit the settings.

Well I added more trainers, those with Agility 20+ more than Gumpy. But to no avail, he still blinks red. Again, he's at 76, trainers are at 95+ and a level or two above. I even tried it with Flo, who's at 71 Agility. Still blinking red.

Is he overburdened with stuff? Try to lower weight below 100%. It also seems that certain personality trais determine who can be trained by whom (Carlos for instance is very picky with his trainers...). This might not be objective, though, based solely on observations I made during game play...
