Help.. Pls. Tried playing but I get CTD every time I try recruiting a merc at AIM or making a new character at IMP.

Heres how I installed the game :
I used JA2:Gold updated using the ja2v1.13-2085EN patch. copied the MFM 1.07 data folders of Battlesnds,Faces,Maps,Mercedt,NPC_Speech,NPCData,Radarmaps,Speech,Tilesets and moved them to the Data-1.13 folder then moved the necessary files of the new MFM 1.13 to the Data-1.13 folder.
When starting a new game I picked the new inventory thingy along with the tons of guns scifi options and everytime I recruit a new merc or create a new one the game CTDs. The CTD doesnt occur when I choose the old inventory option.

And can I still use proedit to change the shirt and pants color of a merc? if not are there any tools similar to proedit so I can edit the appearances of my mercs and IMP mercs? hope someone can reply soon because I really missed JA2 and I want to play the game again Very Happy

MFM 1.13 isn't the easiest mod to install , at least you got it working , not sure if Will meant NIV to be included , he'll probably reply himself tomorrow .

Is NIV new inventory? hehe thanks for the reply. Can someone please point me to a tutorial on how to edit mercs and IMP mercs in 1.13 please?

Yes I made it before NIV was finished so never tested if it worked with MFM or not. I will make an update for MFM-1.13 very soon actually. Damn forgot I had to still do that. It will be based on 1.13 April 2009; I will try to make NIV etc fine with it. It will use different maps (slightly) to MFM 1.07 so will actually be seperate entity. I will also take more account of 1.13's "slots already used" and adjust the RPC's specifically for this. Really MFM is just about the Maps & the Prof.dat anyway... I truely sucketh at weapons mods (apart from the flamer I was proud of that one).

HEHE. I am doing the guns mod for this Smile

I'll try to keep as many guns as I can from the original. However if there are some oddities that cannot be done to the same level as the others they will get the chop (like that stupid plastic pop gun from Chile!). I hope you don't mind Will, though I haven't been doing much JA2 wise for a while due to needing money so I have been working instead Very Happy

Can I still use NIV with your maps and prof.dat? Or would that crash the game? hehe great work btw! thanks for the mod!

Well Kae they is a Famae already in 1.13 & an FMK3. Just use the worst pistol there is for Zamorana or don't bother and just leave it as the old S&W .38 it replaced anyway.

Clgseed: no idea. Never used NIV yet. It's on my list to get it working with mfm1.13; until then dunno; sorry.

Lockie; on the latest 1.07 (2009) I hope (it includes the hard times exe). Just finished a game of that on expert myself. 6 casualties on my teams mostly locals & merc though Buns was a tough loss.
Imp had about 450 kills by the end; Miguel over 600.

Added in the 800 x 600 standard interface from DBB / Tbird , looks nice :ok:

Should be the ones you can d-l from offtopics database. I sent him "final" versions of MFM & MFM-Tracona on a disc 2 months or so ago. Needless to say I done a few weeny changes to both since... dammit. Didn'y make much of a fanfare because I thought all interest beyond compulsive collectors had waned.
