What .exe are you using, I believe the explosions slow down/freeze has been fixed recently. What you are seeing is alluded to in the original DL fiction (email on Ira and Dimitri's fate).

I use exe from SCI_Unstable_Revision_5882_on_GameDir_1610

I followed steps just as described here.

http://www.bears-pit.com/board/ubbthreads.php/topics/236264/2/Urban_Chaos_1_13_Deidranna_Liv.html

I didn't use newer SCI as I was worried it would cause problems.

Should I download lattest thing from https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=013a6926eac52083&id=13A6926EAC52083%21202 ?

EDIT: OK, build 6020 seems to be no go. Load of save ends with error message:

I'm testing v4.40 on build 6020 at the the moment - it should be out some time on Tuesday (got a day off that day). The end game crash should be fixed (avoided) under v4.40, and I have managed to test a few of the multiple paths a player can reach the end.

AFAIK it's to big to be hosted on Mediafire. Better use the link to Skydrive (or wait for somebody to upload it where ever).

I've found a couple of "hidden" scopes in sectors A9 Omerta and D13 Drassen. The scopes are greyed out and I can't pick them up from the inventory screen. When you highlight it, it doesn't show a location on the area map. However, at some point, they eventually become "unhidden" and end up at the feet or a merc. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it to appear. Not sure if these scopes (Variable power scope 3x - 9x) are supposed to be there or if there is something wrong with their placement.

This is with DL-1.13 v 4.41 and JA2 1.13 6020.

In the map editor you can set an item to have the original scope (or other item occupying that index) attached. The problem is that many sniper rifles and similar weapons in v1.13 have a default scope already in place. This default scope kicks the original map placed scope to the map where you are finding it. What you are seeing is actually a copy of the 9x VP Scope for map compatibility purposes, it should function identically to the "real" 9x VP Scope. The only difference is the "normalize" item transform that simply converts it from 9x copy to the "real" 9x, otherwise changing the magnification will also change it to the normal VP scope items.

A way that this can be "fixed" would be to clear the default attachments from the map compatibility copies. This way pre-placed guns from way back won't produce a 2nd optic. This won't prevent incompatible optics from dropping a 9x VP Scope however. ie. RIS only guns, possible only in v1.13, are not compatible with the original scope index so they'll still eject the 9x VP Scope.

EDIT: as I'm avoiding map editing in DL-1.13, where possible, I'm not going in to reset all the items.

Hi Wil, and thanks again for your efforts!

just a question: is it intended, that there are so many Steyr Scouts in Drassen Mine? The 12 guys there carried 4 of them... (not that my IMP sniper cares Wink)

Speaking of which (that is IMP sniper) 12 overall rounds of .22WMR for the CZ "American" seem a little few, especially as every enemy seems to be carrying 9*19mm and .45ACP Guns...

I've also been having a problem with the inventory in a sector disappearing. Just happened to me in Drassen Mine and the only thing left, of 89 items, was that "hidden" scope. Any chance the two situations are related? The inventory has disappeared in that sector 6-7 times now since I started the game. Didn't play DL a lot before, but have never had this kind of thing happen in any of my JA2 games. I haven't noticed inventory disappearing in any other sector, but that said I haven't kept inventory in any other sector for long after taking it over.

Unrelated, paid the Hicks a visit to the NE or Drassen. They're talking about equipment but there wasn't anything there. I imagine you'd get quite a bit of stuff if you took them down, though, so perhaps that's the point of them being there.

Thanks for the work on the mod.

I spotted, that Tony in Meduna sells wallet for 118 and buys it back for 1500 (as it contains 1500).

You can earn money ad infinitum this way.

BTW, is there any use for the casette "Men are away"?

For some reason the not buyable flag was cleared from the wallet. I'll have to check it in all mods.

With Tony in the front, there is no need for the video tape.

Installed the latest version of DL-1.13 and JA2 1.13 and still have the disappearing inventory problem in the Drassen mine sector. I also had the items that were in the sector respawn after leaving and coming back. I've only seen that once. Losing what is in the sector happens pretty regularly when the sector gets reloaded (but not always). Anybody else getting this? Never have had this problem in any other version.

Is it intentional that the crowbar can be repaired? Can't in Vanilla but it does repair in this DL-1.13 v4.44.

Hi,

thx for the effort wil473!

Somehow I can't start the extraction after dling the original Dl files.

Downloaded the original files several times from Ja2 archive and a polish site. Everytime i hit the ja2dl.exe after extracting i get 'Xceedzip.ocx' files missing or corrupt. Tried compatibility mode winxp and winme/98 neitehr do work Sad. I haven't got a clue why this is happening. Running Win7pro 64bit. Any ideas? thx alot

See if RoWa21's upload still works:

RoWa21
@Jagged_ID: Here it is, just download and extract the 7z-package in your JA2 installation directory. After that, you should have a folder called "Data-DL" in your JA2 root directory.
Then you have to install the 1.13-DL version.

I just tried out this mod, I like it very much! It runs stable, so far without any crashes. (up to conquering 2nd town)

The most positive about it is that it finally gets the NCTH working properly and balanced.

However, I discovered a number of minor issues:

1. The cover and view displays have a bunch of X-es instead of colors. I don't see any difference between the standing/crouching/prone areas
2. My full sector inventory was deleted without trace in San Mona (C5, gun shop)
3. The single-shot eagle ejects the wrong ammo
4. The spy trait is very hard to use, as no gun dropped by the enemy at the beginning is weak enough to not be considered "too good".
5. some (female) IMP mercs have a different picture when shown in tiny resolutions (foe example, waking up or going to sleep) - maybe it's a general 1.13problem?

I have a lot of problems with this one. It keeps wanting to delete my inventory in San Mona C5 but also in the Drassen Mine sector and Chitzena SAM. This is all the further I got in my current game.

My thought is it has something to do with incompatible items that are in those sector maps but I haven't been able to figure out the map editor enough to edit them out and see if it changes anything.

I've some theory about this but never tested. This bug happened to me many times. I had a hunch that updating exe in the middle of campaign messes with the game. Currently i've started a game with 5581 exe and been playing ~1 years and no sector inventory ever disappeared. So my question is have you ever changed your exe to a new one with an already started campaign?

Not me. Every time I update the JA2 version, I start a new campaign. In this last case, I hadn't played in a long time and reinstalled the most recent version and had the problem. Haven't had this happen with any other version of JA2, so that's why I think it's something specific to DL. I'd go back and try with an older version of JA2 but I believe DL needs the newer versions.

Fixed the (N)CAP/armour issue (I forgot to update to the new scheme) here: Diedranna Lives!-1.13 v4.46a 20130616 (Full)

EDIT: Well this is somewhat embarrassing, I seem to have implemented the new (N)CAP scheme with the same mistakes (forgetting things have to be filled in for armour and detonators) as in v4.45 - here is revision d: DL-1.13 v4.45d

Um, I feel kind of dumb asking this because the instructions were explicit enough but can I request a better explanation of the first phase of the installation again.

I'm running Windows 7 64 Ultimate.

I got the original Deidranna Lives file from Kermi's repository and unzipped it. It created a Deidranna Lives US folder which contains a JA2DL.exe file and a bunch of zip folders.

When I try to run that exe file, the game mentions that an .ocx file is not register or that the dependency failed to load. I tried to regsvr32 the file but it didn't work.

I tried using the installer from fileplanet but it says that it was designed for a different version of Windows so I'm kind of stumped on how to continue. Is the kermi DL just ready to use or do I have to run that .exe file?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm, getting a weird bug when trying to buy the vest that Angel sells in San Mona. I give him $950 bucks and he claims its not enough, I event tried going to $1100 and he says the same thing, what gives?

Ran into a guy toting an AR-22A3 around. After liberating it I found it has a range of 30. Holy shit!

I ran into another bug. I'm escorting John and Mary Kulba from Chitzena to Drassen. The Kulbas never trigger the dialog to leave the party!

That bug was fixed month ago, download new version or do this:

http://www.bears-pit.com/board/ubbthreads.php/topics/322941/Re_BUGZILLA_report_all_bugs_he.html#Post322941

Fix was added to the trunk on Jul 21st. So any newer version of gamedir than 1712 should have bug fixed.

Sorry but the problem persisted after updating to a newer version, loaded my old save and John and Mary still won't trigger the dialog at the airport at Drassen.

Do I have to start a new game?

No, you don't need to start a new game. It's just a script change which takes effect immediately.

@VadimDolvich

It's dangerous to go alone. Here, take this.

And put it in "Data-DL113\Scripts" folder.
