well it happened in smeagol's mod, but i guess it's an 1.13-problem

one redshirt fled to omerta-east -> barry, following fatima to that sector, dispossed him -> fatima's script is broken (she won't move)

anyone else experienced that one?

of course i don't have a save (the one who saves in omerta should better play the sims)

If there is a battle in A10 the Fatima script will sometimes be broken. It is clear evidence of how fragile the game's original quest system is and a reason it needs to be fixed in order for really in depth storyline mods to ever be created.

The fix is going back to the before Barry followed the red shirt (but you already knew that). It has also worked for me to walk around Fatima but this does not always work. Ideally, you have to be 'behind her' on the movement path she takes or she will stand there and possibly even tell you she has nothing more to say. Getting 'behind her' on her movement path may work.

it doesn't - i had my high-leadership impress (55) stand any tyle next to her and talk from any of those to her - nada. i also tried to change places with her and thus get her to walk the steet again - she refused to move.

it's not a big problem - attacking lz once more is not really a difficulty, is it?

just wanted to report that, 'cause i think it belongs to npc-script-problems (and we don't have a topic for that in the modders' debt)

She is by far and away the most complex of the npc's and therefore the easiest to break. The npc quest edit thing has her at approx 36 plus seperate lines just to get her to go from A9 to A10 Basement. You can tell why they only bothered with it the once... Smile

Yes, like I said getting behind her on her movement path MIGHT WORK. I've had the quest break irreparably more times than I can tell you since I actually moved this quest to another sector and both of those sectors are always hostile.
Without some utility to restructure or fix quests I think this may always be a 'feature' of my mod I can do nothing about. But there are workarounds and saving before Fatima moves is the only sure way to be able to make this quest work right.

It is a good idea to save before you initiate any quest in the game or any important action whatsoever.

Hi everyone!

I installed 1.13 today, just to run into the first bug pretty much right away.
After I've given Enricos letter to Fatima, she moves to A10 but only to one corner of the street. She then gives me a speech about how all the people and children of Omerta are counting on me and so one. But she won't introduce me to Dimitri, who of course doesn't let me enter the hideout.

I have a savegame right before I first talk to Fatima, but the postings above mine read as if that quest might already been broken... Are there any workarounds to this issue or do I have to start over?

Thanks for any hints in advance.

Cheers!

welcome to the pit

revert to a save before you spoke to her or open a new game (her skript broke on the way between sectors)

Yeah, did that.
Startet over 3 times now, still the same problem. After I've given her the letter, she's supposed to get me to Dimitri directly, right? Well, I can't get her any further than to said corner.
Any suggestions besides starting over?

By any chance, could the source of the problem be, that I used a copy of Wildfire instead of JA2 Gold before I installed 1.13?

I'm sorry if I wasted your time guys. Seems like I misread Wikipedia, where it reads like 1.13 was developed from Wildfire...

@Logisteric: Well, I got it to run, but obviously not very far.

Nevermind my newbie questions and be careful with your head Gorro, you only have one. Wink

See you guys later, I gotta get me some JA2 Gold. Smile

Oh after my brain surgery I became careful. You were supposed to do so.

This is interesting because it is very similar to a mod breaking bug that had improper pathing or npc placements. It would be so cool if the .npc files were externalized.

Good news guys. I could find the bug (after more hours debugging/comparing svn versions, ...) which causes NPCs not leaving the sector.

The bug was introduced in revision 4687 when "improved interrupt system (IIS)" was merged.
Thank god, that we have a version control Smile

The official 4870 release version does not contain the bug (because IIS is not integrated), but Tais latest SCI will have the bug. Anyway it is fixed now.

I bet you installed a new SCI, because the bug was introduced into the new SCI, but now it is fixed in the source Smile
