Installed the Cosplay/DBB Mod and to see what it added when into the XML Editor, which promptly crashed. Started a new game and definitely started out with some new gear. However, look at the guns available under INI Editor and didn't notice anything new.

Is it normal for the XML Editor to not work with DBB?

Unfortunately, yes. When a new DBB-version comes out, then it almost always contains something crazy that makes the XML-Editor crash.
You'll have to wait until someone fixes the DBB-XMLs to work with the XML-Editor.

Thanks, I thought I had botched the install.

I've been browsing some of the other threads a bit and that leads to some questions:
1) What is the latest DBB mod that has been cleaned up to fit with XML Editor?
2) I'm thinking it might be fun later to try using some late WW2 small arms, like the STG-44. Looking at the XML Editor, it looks quite possible to add a few new weapons oneself. Granting that there is surely a lot more to doing it, are there hidden traps that make it especially difficult? I'm a total non-coder, but I can usually use programs, more or less. Smile

Well, you need to have an idea how the realworld data relates to game data, and the most important part is to get proper pictures for your new gun.

Absolutely! Otherwise I'm just plugging in numbers like a monkey on a keyboard. I need to prowl the forums a bit, I'm sure somewhere there will be a discussion of what the various parameters represent. Then it will be a matter of first getting a handle on how current weapons are represented and then morph some real world data into game format. Seems a straight forward plan, the devil will be in the details I'm sure.

1) Anyone know what is the latest, cleaned-up DBB mod that works with the XML Editor? Is it DBB 909c with the Tbird v1.0 clean up?

2) What picture format is used with JA2/
