Hello there!

I just downloaded "JA2 1.13 3356 exe SVN@1224 Full" from the first post and installed on the fresh JA2 Gold and now have some problems with the game.

1. I don't hear any sound/music/voices, except the shooting sound. Every single option I could find is turned on so I have no idea what is causing this.
2. I also got that missing l2.ini file error (like someone in this thread) but it popped out only once so far so it doesn't really bother me.

Any ideas guys? I would really appreciate any help as playing w/o hearing anything is really... not fun.

Ok that's a bit odd. I'll check the file, but I doubt it's the issue.

Where is it installed on your system and are you using Win 7 or Vista?

I installed it in the following path: D:\Program Files\JA2 Gold

I'm using Win XP Pro with SP3. I think it's worth mentioning that one of the previous JA2 1.13 versions (EXE file was 2124 and SVN probably 1061 but I'm not sure on this one) worked perfectly.

Ok firstly shouldn't be installed to program files (I know you are on XP, but it does still apply due to Windows file protection).

Second it must be installed on a clean install. Problems can occur when installing over previous versions of 1.13 especially ones as old as 1061ish Wink

I personally use a folder called Games usually on another HD (D:\Games\JA2...). Check with a clean install of JA2 updated to 1.07 or 1.12 depending on whether or not you use Gold Smile

Might want to make sure you have the correct codecs on your system. Go download the K-Lite Codec Pack (Full is the best) and install using default parameters. That may help with the sound issue. I'll have a look into other options 2mo when it's not 2am Wink

Might be related to the mss32.dll file that comes with the JA2gold Cd. copy the mss32.dll file from the unfinished business folder over to the main JA2 folder.

My 1.12 gold install from the cd wouldn't work until I copied over that file.

No mirror's at the moment to my knowledge? How are you downloading it? You can use an FTP program like CuteFTP or download using any good browser. I would recommend using something like DownThemAll with FireFox as that supports resuming and multi-part downloading. Much more reliable than using Internet Explorer or the normal download protocols.

Going to upload a new one in the next day or two anyway Wink

No problems, I might try FTP, I've used Firefox and IE to no avail.

Or maybe I should hang out for the new one!

Trying to use filezilla, is there a specific ftp address for this file?

EDIT: Giving downloadthemall a shot...

Hello again chaps, long time.

I recently finished JA 1.13 with HAM (good mod, thanks for making it) on Normal and found it too easy later on.

Anyway what i'd like to do is play with the "wildfire" mod as it upps the ante' and the levels look different at the same time.

My question is - Am I able to install Wildfire and use 1.13 and HAM with it?

If no - bummer.

If yes - great, and in what order?

I assume Wildfire is avaliable somewhere to buy?
Or do I download it as it's been out for so long?

Many thanks in advance.

nope - you don't buy nothing - the wildfire in question is a 1.13-mod that is incompatible to retail wildfire

just turn smeagol's sig upside down or read one of that gazillion of threads talking about that combo (the search-engine HAS improved)

Oh good.

This looks like it is what I want, I'm curious though as to what I can get to work with it.

While it's nice there are so many mods for JA it feels like at times I cant quite make sense of what goes with what.

In order to use JA2 with 1.13, HAM, and Wildfire (1.13 version). Can I do it with all current versions of these 3 mods or do I need to use specific ones?

I'm curious too as to what order to Install them in.
Thanks again for your help, it's really very much appreciated.

You need to have the latest patch for your version. If you have the pre-gold edition upgrade to 1.06 or 1.07 patch and then apply 1.13.

Also the installer should write to any JA2 install folder. Did you install to program files? If you did on Windows 7 that is a protected Operating System folder and not recommended for old games to be installed to.

Re-install JA2 (or just move the current install) to C:\Games\ or whatever you feel is appropriate. Just not into a protected OS folder like Program Files.

I'm downloading this - thank you Kaerar!

Is it with NAS?

Could it be merged with WF6.06 - full or just maps?
Or even with WF6.07 from smeagol's skydrive - I know it's not tested but it worked for me?

And with STOMP 1.2 (witch actually indlude NAS for sure)?

And when will be aviable SCI or maybe SVN version with NCTH?

I know that things are in progress and I behave like a peevish child but I just sooo want to try it all... (I have some free time right now and that isn't very common for me ;P).

Kaerar,
I've downloaded the one click application. I've tried to unzip into JA but it didnt work. I am using Windows7. I then extracted to a folder on my desk top & copy pasted into the ja file. It asked if I wanted to add the duplicate files. I tried once saying yes & not to erase the duplicate. It didnt work ...I then tried with a new install & said to just replace the duplicates. I got a runtime error

File : \ sgp.cpp

Any Ideas?

@Alred 27 - You can do it that way though I wouldn't recommend it. Best way is to have a clean install of JA2 patched and no mods. Then install to that directory and let it overwrite anything it needs to. It's a self-extracting exe for a reason Wink

Will test again here to check it's not the installer's fault.

@Svean - Not doing mergers at the moment as I have 2 other projects I am working on and one of them is very time intensive. Seeing as all the things mentioned are available here it's not to hard to get them all, but some don't play nice with others for varying reasons. I don't have time to test all iterations at the moment.

AFAIK you should patch to JA2 v1.12 first (as you arent using JA2 Gold).
Google came up with this link: http://www.mofunzone.com/game_patch_downloads/jagged_alliance_2_gold_1_12.shtml

Actually ... I think Windows 7 is blocking the install. I can see the files I've unpacked in the left column & they show with a Gold lock in front of the folder. For my computer I'm the Admin so I'm not sure why.

Alred I've PM'd you instructions on how to overcome the Win 7 install issues.

Actually Win 7's install process is very good. You just need to know not to install games to Program Files. That's basically it Wink

@Logisteric - Old versions need to patched to 1.06 or 1.07 before installation.

@Muffin - Can't install Gold patches onto pre Gold 1.10 releases of JA2.

Hey Kaerar, you should post the new SCI made by Tais, here on your first post.
The SCI has 1.13 SVN1228 + HAM + STOMP 1.2 + WF6.06 + AIMNASv6.
Here's the link SCI by Tais
Also a new AIMNAS version was already released by Smeagol, along with new map updates.
Downloads HERE

My old SCIs are out of date. I've been away from JA2 for a while and now I see that all my favorite mods got updated. Luckily, Tais made a great job and made a SCI with all the latest and best mods. New and old fans shouldn't miss out on this awesome combo.

thx goc_man, i still need to thank you for your SCI's, they came in very handy for me when i was still just playing ja2 Smile

when you guys start linking to my SCI please link to the directory where it's at so when i make updates people will also find them in there
for WF i have this link http://www.mediafire.com/?fkrfz6vz149oa
i would like to make a good UC SCI, but i dont know for sure if i can add the original UC files.. so i am not releasing anything yet
if i get confirmation on that i will place them here
http://www.mediafire.com/?usll77n79e4jm

When smeagol is done with changing all the WF maps i will make a new WF SCI with the newest AIMNAS and those maps included.

I already made a UC SCI (original not 1.13). I guess I should put the links in the UC section!

As for your SCI Tais just PM me or put the links here and I'll paste them into the first post. Would you like me to mirror them on Zarax's server? Would make life a bit easier for downloading than using Mediafire.

Hello.
I working with Inshi for localization of Ja2 1.13 on Russian language. I have some question about ja2 1.13:

1. In folder \Data-1.13\TableData\ there are many files with different file names such as

Russian.Items.xml
Polish.Items.xml

and so on...

So I guess this is becase Ja 2 1.13 has multi-language support? How it work? Is there some ini's parameter for change current languge in game?

2. For now I working on some text like a:

L"Do you wish to perform necessary surgeries first? (%i patient(s))",// MINTY - Changed "make" to "perform": More natural English
L"Do you wish to perform the surgery on this patient first?",// MINTY - Changed "make" to "perform": More natural English

It is STOMP? Now STOMP integrated in JA2 1.13 like HAM 3.6?

Russian.Items.xml and Polish.Items.xml (and other languages that show up) are item descriptions in the respective language. For instance, Russian.Items.xml contains item names (long/short) and descriptions (description box/Bobby Ray's screen) in Russian language.

Dunno if there is a language switch hidden in the settings, but I guess the game recognizes which language version it is and reads the right XML file. Should certainly work with German version (any member from Germany: please correct if I'm wrong).
