Hey everybody, i just joined this forum and am new here. though I not used to this forum, i found it very useful as i found out many things which i did not know about in jagged alliances 1 and 2. I'm quite young to be able to play Jagged Aliiance 1/2 and most of my friends had never played it before, so there isnt any tips or help coming from them. I just want to know which is the newest version of JA2 as i only have the v1.03 version that was released in 1999 , i heard and read about newer versions but had never got the chance to update mine, can anyone please post a link to a most recent/official patch on the game and not a mod to the game. I want to experience the game without any cheats/ help by modding it. Thx!

So thx guys im successful in updating my version, it now states ver 1.07 build 00 something something
I just want to know, what are the notice-able changes from 1.03 to 1.07? I did notice that the time taken to calculate whether you are able to snatch an enemy's weapon or not has been greatly reduced, i also found a new LMG, are there any other changes?

wait, 2 days ago lockie mentioned the gold version, is this just like a regular update or is it a more complicated matter, i tried to install the program but it said i cant as i dont have JA2 Gold, i only have the original version? i just finished the game again on 1.07, it rocked

Let me elaborate on Logisteric's answer, in case this is not entirely clear:
Any version up to and including 1.12 is "Vanilla" - the unmodded game. Version 1.13 is a mod.
1.12 version is the only one called Gold, as it was released in the Jagged Alliance 2 Gold Edition, which included both JA2 and JA2,5:UB. Later on, a stand-alone patch was also released to allow older versions to be patched to 1.12. So whoever says "Gold", means version 1.12.
Now, you probably wanted to ask...
DoggyboyboiI just want to know if version 1.13 works on Vanilla, or does it only work with Vanilla Gold?
Now this question makes sense, and the answer is:
Version 1.13 will work on Gold, and will work on older Vanilla versions as well (down to 1.05 for certain). Just use the latest installer available via the quick link above the list of forums and you're good to go. If your Vanilla version is older than 1.05, first apply some official patch to bring it to 1.05 at least, then install 1.13. Should set you up all right.
