Just out of curiosity: how do you prefer to deal with those funny, funnny inbreds outside of Cambria? Do you give over a female merc, or do you blow 'em all to hell? Nothing like a little C4 in their bedrooms, hehehehe.

Early in the game if you are careful in how you set up your mercs, you can clear the place in a few easy blasts... HP ammo at that ranch is insane. The shotguns are priceless early in the game, their high damage is nice... and if all else fails, Tony will liberate them for a decent sum of cash.

All in all, really, I just enjoy using HP ammo to gain cheap skill increases on their inbreed arses. :transform:

As a wise man named Colonel Charles Beckwith (founder of Delta Force) once remarked: "Kill 'em all, and let God sort it out!"

That being said, just for the heck of it once I married off one of my female Mercs (Spider, I think) to the son, Darrel. All I got for that when I checked back in a few days later was her saying (subtitles only) "I can't beleive you did this to me!" Overcome with guilt, and being a proper gentleman after all, I waxed all of the Hicks and set her free. Never was able to rehire her that game, there's gratitude for you.

Moral of the story: It's best to waste all of the Hicks. You get some good stuff, and you boost sympathy and morale for you, and the people of Cambria.

Hehehehe i love wiring that place to blow. I found a whole load of remote TNT and Trevor had a detonator so I planted TNT everywhere. Anybody that survived got gibbed by a rocket rifle or a mortar (I only went to the Hicks for some action cuz when I go to meduna my program crashes!)
I just wired TNT everywhere with Shadow and they never saw me at night.

BOOM, no more Hicks. :crossbones:

Does ANYBODY in this forum let them live? I doubt it!
They are SO cute when their head pop, aren't they? And they're so dumb you just wanna make their head pop, don't ya? And you can't do that to your own teammate, selling her to an inbred family, can you? And you really want those scopes, don't you?

Well, like one said, there is no reason for let them live, but there isn't any reason to kill them as well, so i kill them all :diabolical:

One strange thing is that if you marry some woman with that guy, even if we kill him sort after, we can't recover the merc :bawling:

I stuck all of my mercs in the shed, shut the door, and blasted the one who was in there. Then as the family tried to assault the shed, I kept picking them off.

It requires some careful placement of your mercs, and you may have to move a few of your mercs around as they begin to take shotgun blasts, but you should be able to waste all or most of the family that way.

All of these are good ideas.

There were few things as enjoyable as taking on the Hicks for the first time. They are a seemingly endless number of twisted and cruelly effective ways of stopping the "dumbing down" of Arulco.

I wish there more farms like this in Arulco... Very Happy

BTW, Roy. Where have you seen a timber wolf on Vancouver Island? I know cougars are a problem in Victoria sometimes...

I generally ignore them, unless I get bored! They make a messy diversion, and are great to test weapons on when deciding which ones to use! Also gives you a rare chance to use hand to hand combat. Lovely. To be fair, I usually forget they exist. Time to go back down the farm I reckon... :sadyellow: :rifle:

He wasn't the first to say it; that quote is older than the United States in fact. I'm not sure of the originator, but I'm pretty sure it was first said in the context of the 12th/13th century Crusades.

The exact context of the quote is as follows.

The Cathars (or Albigensians) were a group of heretics living in southern France (Languedoc)at the turn of the 12th Century. They were (amongst other things) against the riches and hierarchy of the Church. Rather than being limited to just a few dissenters, the whole of society in the region was Catharist.

In 1209, Pope Innocent III sent a crusade (the Albigensian Crusade) to wipe out the heresy. When the town of Beziers fell, the heretics were put to death on the orders of the Pope's representative, Arnold-Amaury, the Abbot of Citeaux. When he was asked how the executioners were to distinguish between heretics and true believers, his response was "Kill them all. God will recognise his own." In the massacre that followed 15,000-20,000 townspeople were put to death.

Hire Biff & Flo - then sell Flo to the Hicks. It's worth it just to hear Biff's response (then you can waste 'em).

Has anyone tried this with Raider & Raven? or Vicky/Gasket? Gumpy/Buns? - Fox and one of her many admirers; or even Lynx/Buzz?!
I wonder if there are any mercs who don't have "straight teeth"? From memory I don't think they rejected Meltdown.

Kill em. Where else do you get cheap experience? Not many places. And that sector is optional (sort of). But I go there anyway.

Its worth the weapons (Guns= Money. Not a hard math problem.) and the experience. I'd go there anytime.

I just killed the hicks in my current campaign. I don't even bother talking to them first anymore.

This time instead of placing my Mercs in the house, I put them behind the trees at the south part of the sector. Each Merc had 2-3 magazines of HP ammo. My team is also more experienced this time around... I usually kill the hicks early in the game, right after Drassen, whereas this time, I had already taken Drassen, Cambria, Alma, a sector of Grumm, 2 SAM Sites, and Tixa.

The hicks never had a chance. My team killed them all without taking a single hit. I even let Shank spray his MAC10 around the map (not that he hit anything).

This campaign is going well. I took Chitzena this morning with only 4 Mercs, including that bonehead Hamous who only had 2 mags of ammo and no weapon enhancements. My only losses so far are Gumpy, Flo, and Bull. I lost Gumpy and Flo in a surprise attack on Alma. Bull got killed fair and square in the bloodcat lair, mostly because I didn't have enough automatic weapons on hand.
