I didn't mind the short turns originally, but when one of your mercs is injured you are seriously hamstrung to apply first aid, or even move them out of the way of danger.

Even with turns back to original some of my enemies get the jump on me, especially if they have pistols, and seem to open up their entire clip before I can retaliate. So there's some balance there.

As for maps, it would be great to get some more Sci-Fi or apocalyptic tiles and elements in there. I'd like to help, but Vengeance is still taking up most of the development time I have right now.

I have another question:

I am able to play DEMISE only with a mixture Ja2Gold(German), but not in Ja2Gold(English)
on Windows 8 by changing the adjustments by RMB for example WindowsXP-Mode.
Result for example: Displacements in the sectorinventory.
Is there anybody who may make Ja2Gold (English) playable?

I've never had issues with DOM in English, I got the impression the exe is based on the English install anyway, however I am using an original 1999 install from Talonsoft, not the Gold disk.

Only issues I've had apart from the odd annoying crash (especially underground fighting Aliens) is the inventory/items windows and the roster grid system seemed off by a handful of pixels, but I think even that has been fixed since the latest update.

Yes, me and Scheinworld are part of a small team revisiting Vengeance which was originally created by the Scorpion. It's currently a closed build but I have been hoping for some time to get a release out there soon, possibly a limited test version for others feedback. There is some discussion at:

http://thepit.ja-galaxy-forum.com/index.php?t=msg&th=15824&goto=339644&#msg_339644

but we are generally trying to keep development under wraps until we are ready.

Sorry,

is there anybody who is able to write anything about Windows 8, Ja2Gold(English) and
Demise? And it is working!

Or working with Ja2_1.13?

The German Ja2Gold is working with adjustments and installing
with Ja2_1.13,
precisely Ja2Gold(German)_1.12 + Ja2_1.13 + Demise.

If you are using my newest DoM release, you just have to add the vanilla SLFs.
No more need for Gold-install to be upgraded.
This should make thing a bit easier.

@Callahan,

thank you. I have the newest installation.
But I cannot find the mistake.
If I copy the contents of DEMISE into Ja2_1.12(German or English), a lot of
SLF are in the data-directory. Which "SLF" are missing?
In spite of this, the German works (but only by installing 1.13!!!), but the
English dosn't work with 1.13 or without 1.13.

But sorry, the German is a mixture of German and English because DEMISE is
in English. I have had a lot of CTD. But then it works again.

It is frustrating!

But as to Ja2_1.12 (English) without DEMISE:
It is not working in Windows 8 contrary to Ja2(each German Version).
???

You should not have to copy the contents of "Demise" anywhere into another install.

Just unpack the newest version into any empty loaction. Take a look into the "data" folder.
As you can see, I did not include any SLF's.
These must be taken from another vanilla, or even the old version of DoM, and copied here.

You got the newest version from here ? This is the one to use.
http://d01.megashares.com/dl/5DVu2Zo/demise export.rar

Unfortunately, I do not use Win 8 and cannot help if the problem is caused by the OS.

@Callahan,

I have "forgotten" Ja2Gold and copied all SLFs from Ja2(German) into data-directory of
Demise.
In German the game is starting, but I am not able to choose AIM(and--->Bobby), but
Merc and then the game is freeezing. I made the same experience in other mixtures
of German and English Ja2-Mods.

In English the game dosn't start.
The SLFs came from Ja2Gold (English).

It's a damage.

I'm not using windows 8 though, my system is Windows 7.

My original installation took a few attempts, but this latest update seemed fairly straight-forward.

Fan, have you read http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/board/ubbthreads.php/topics/312897/Jagged_Alliance_2_on_Windows_8.html yet?
There are some hints at how to get JA2 running with win8:
1. disable or get rid of intro video!
2. try win8's compatibility settings.
3. Use D3D driver from 'wine'.

@ Sam Hotte,

jo, I have read that all and it concerns to my opinion.

All Ja2German which allow to suppress the intro are working (1.13 + Mods, p. e. Ja2AR),
but not Ja2_1.00 etc. But it is working with an savedgame (then no intro!)
I do it on Windows 7 and transfer it on Windows 8.
No Ja2English-Version do work to my surprise! No way!

My Demise is therefore a mixture, because my installation is German and Demise is English
and only working over Ja2_1.13(German)!
The game is crashing many times, ever surprising.

Driver wine is unknown to me, I shall "google", perhaps.

@Hawkeye,

Windows 7 is working every times.
