 I've played Ja2 for years now, and have been enjoying 1.13 for a while, but I have encountered a problem that I can't seem to get around.

Every time I attempt to get the INI editor going, I receive the following error:

The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000135). Click on OK to ...

I have tried three different full installs of 1.13, twice each, so reinstalling doesn't seem to help. I've tried running the vanilla game (I've got Ja2 Gold) and patching to 1.12 before installing 1.13, and that doesn't work either.

It worked fine on my "New" PC (that just died, and made me come back to my reliable old P4) using all three of the previous setups.

Any advice or help?

 Maybe the INI-Editor needs a NET2.0 or NET3.0 environment just like the XML-Editor does.
Does the XML-Editor run properly?

 I do believe that is correct it needs at least 2.0 installed.

What is in the file "vfs_init.log" (should be either in the game root directory or in Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113)?

Read how to install 113 and have down loaded even my 2085 older is not working .
If you had a (broken?) vfs-enabled installation and then go back to an older version, then it is possible that your ja2.ini doesn't fit. The older versions had the entry "CUSTOM_DATA_LOCATION = Data or Data-1.13". The newer ones don't.
