Commercialism at it's best ladies and gentlemen. If there were in game in depth tutorials on how to play games back then it would be more recognizable and more prestigious.
What a world I live in. . .

Why would it be on the latest but not on an older one? Where is Akella based out of by chance? (I know they dropped the game in the past couple of weeks but I am just curious)

Now that's more like it. Still don't agree with it at all but at least there are a few good ones at the top.
Ooops, I was actually talking about the bottom of the list. But at least Fallout is in their top ten (as if there was any chance it wasn't going to be.)

solitaire number 82? Left 4 Dead??? That game was horrible! I give up on life.
Also, Fallout number 7? Only because of part 3's advertising and sales could this be feasible.

I spent a while last year rating all the games I've ever played, on Gamespot (at least, the ones they have listed, though for the most part I found everything that was important).
Of over 400 of the games I rated, 17 games ended up with a "10.0" (all justified, as far as I'm concerned). I couldn't possibly rate any of them lower than 10, and I couldn't give them any particular order within that rating either.
OK, in Alphabetical order:
Baldur's Gate II
Civilization (1990)
Civilization IV
Company of Heroes
Day of the Tentacle
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers
Jagged Alliance 2
Loom
Monkey Island
Monkey Island 2
Pirates!
Pirates! (2004)
Quest For Glory I: So You Want To Be A Hero
Rome: Total War
Star Control II
Star Wars TIE Fighter
Transport Tycoon Deluxe
Honorable mention goes to Pirates and Civilization for making essentially the same game twice and still deserving to be ranked at the top. In fact, Microprose wins my prize for consistently making good games for over a decade.
I've also got close to 40 games rated "9.5", just a stone's throw away from perfect, like "Star Trek: Judgment Rites", "Freddy Pharkas", "Ghost Recon" and both "Fallout"s. There are lots of good games in this world, it really all boils down to the circumstances.
Also, I guess I should add Dragon Age to the "10"s, I forgot to rate it.
