I like my IMP guy with stealth and Night Ops. Then i like to Get Bull and Griz from Aim. Those guyts make and awesome team. From Merc i like to get Razor he is one heck of a killing machine when he gets train up and Haywire because him and Razor work amazing together and then ill Pick up Ira to be the Doc. That right there is a helluva team in the long run.

LOL this is probably the 200,000th one of these!

Anyway my recent play style, has been to take mainly low level AIM mercs and Gasket initially. Peeps like Grunty, Barry, Igor, Fox, Blood, etc...

I only usually have one IMP, though sometimes I indulge and have a second one of the opposite sex Very Happy

especially i like the small team i can put together in Urban Chaos.
landing in Atremo with just one merc - Jubilee, as she is special for UC. no imp. hiring Rosebud and Rude Dog in Atremo. with those three, taking Calisto airport and calling in Razor and Haywire. then gettin' Skitz out of mental hospital. and then the group is on the move, not bothering with mines or helicopter, using what weapons they find and cash from the banks - and the queen must be killed before two weeks are over.

My normal starting team is this:
1 Imp Sniper/Stealth
1 Imp Auto/Night Ops
Igor
Grace
Ira/Dimitri

Playing with 1.13 Wild-Fire. You start out with enough money to hire a good selection but this is what I usually take.

Let's talk about merc teams, that is mercenaries who like each other:

"Team Ivan"
Grunty
Igor
Ivan
Buns

additionally Hitman, Sidney and Iggy

Starting with Grunty, Igor and Buns, possibly with the addition of Barry, you get a good team for a fair prize. The problem is of course that Buns cannot be mixed with everyone else.

"Team Raven"
Spider
Raven
Raider
Vicki
Thor
Static

additionally Len, Dr. Q, Trevor and Ice

This is a rather expensive team to start with.

"Team Scope"
Meltdown
Stephen
Sidney
Scope

additionally Conrad and Buns

Also very expensive. You might wish to start with Buns, Meltdown and Stephen - even though Dimitri doesn't like Stephen.

"Team Wolf"
Wolf
Fox
Nails
Cougar
Lynx
Bull
Grizzly
Ice
Shadow
Maddog

and others....

This is an interesting team: you might start with Wolf, Fox, Grizzly and Bull expanding it by characters like Ice, Shadow etcpp. as the game progresses. If you have early M.E.R.C. activated you could also use Cougar as starting team leader (you don't need to pay him in advance) and get Wolf after the first mine has been secured.

"Team Len"
Len
Gus
Cougar
Dr. Q
Vicki
Scully

prohibitive expensive.

"Team Fidel"
Fidel
Haywire
Razor
Numb
Malice

This team also requires early M.E.R.C. but can be an option because you only need to pay Fidel and Malice in advance. Problems can be the extreme low wisdom of these guys, the fact Ira doesn't like Malice, and that they rather lack other qualifications than killing and explosives.

"Team Ice"
Ice
Blood
Magic
Grizzly
Thor
Linx

An excellent team, that also has its price.

"Lynx' Kindergarten"
Lynx
Flo
Biff
Larry

Now that would be a team! Flo likes Lynx and he in return has no problems with the other three, who also love each other (don't want to further elaborate this). You only have to pay for Lynx in advance. The others would get their money only when if they survive the first week. But the true challange would be to keep Larry sober.

There are some mercenaries that can be added to each team without problems. For example MD can join any team as medic and Barry can be mixed with each team as explosives/lockpicking expert. Hiring Hamous or Maddog also always is save.

A-team always ends up: IMP(SNOPs-sniper,night ops),Ice,Wolf,Dr Q,Blood,Igor(a diverse high agility team that can survive in iron man if needs be)
Mandatory support:Barry(the only reasonably priced locksmith-electronics), Iggy(pretty much the only guy that can use those semiauto grenade launchers reliably-can carry a mortar and a few shells)
Mandatory EFC kickboxer:Grizzly(he doubles as HW support),tho Bull or DrQ are more reliable in iron man
B-team:Buns,Grunty and all other webels(Conrad depens on mood, most times i cant stomach him-he is a mandatory hire in iron man)
I never go higher up the roster xcept for the final assault on Meduna when the AIM and MERC stars come out to shine(this of course becomes a necessity when the shit hits the fan in iron man-and it always seems to find that damn fan).
All games are played on experienced with insane ini settings(i dont like "magickal" extra CTH or AP's for the queens goons).Game ends when IMP dies.

For the record(and to annoy the police),my first team evah(back in the begining of the millenium):IMP,Wolf,Blood,Grunty,Barry,Igor.

Almost forgot:Lamont makes a late appearance so he can double team kill(yeah...kill-thats what i meant)the queen together with Maddog. They get issued veeeeery dull swiss army knives and two weeks to finnish the job.

I dig that. I hate when my mercs start with low AP. High AP mercs are harder to suppress, can afford to lose a little AP wearing armor, and can usually jump up and abandon their position if a strategic fallback is required when things go bad. I had Grizzly training AGI in every second of his free time in my last game.
