Hey,

this will become my thread for various questions&stuff that will come up as i play along.


But first:

Instal problems-

The game itself is running fine but i cant do anything on the AIM site, no clicking.
And when i do the game likes to crash.
Help?

You've installed the mod over a German JA2 game, right? Wink Your problem should be solved with using the German NightOps EXE. Special thanks @ inshy!

yeah german game^^

I already thought that to be the problem, but i couldnt see how to fix it.

Many thx for the german .exe!!

Will try it out later.
At first i thought the AIM site would be accesible later(mod feature thingie) but after i got raped with my AE and Ira(no silencers=dead) i was sure this was wrong^^

Hello

inshy gonna smile when he see this post.( yes Inshy i found my Ja2 Cds again)

I like to try Night ops but I have the same problem as Hazmat, but only I have the Dutch version.
Is there a way around it so I can try it?

I did got that 1.13 version running once but I cant remember what or how I did that.

I got Ja2 NightOps Running.

Installed the 1.06 ( game doesnt run after this install)1.07 1.13 and finally the Nops English version.
Then I put those missing Tile cache thingys in the map called Data.
By the looks of it it all works now.

If anyplayer need those missing tilecache thingys let me know, I will send them.

nOps is NOT an-1.13-mod - you won't see any 1.13-stuff you just littered your nOps-folder

Yes I am aware off that but without that 1.13 patch/Mod my Dutch game doesn't work.Somehow it override the Dutch version and made it English.

BTW, Thx for sending me those missing files

1.13 does not contain replacements for mercedit-files - only edts for new mercs (only4) - that tabledata-stuff belongs to 'data' - it would also work in 'data_1.13' though

i dare say you mixed sth completely up

it is a problem in the dutch version - some tilesets are missing - he does not have the missing files, i sent him a zipped tilecache from a german ja2 - so you don't see anything if you get that - as you want to know what's missing you needed a dutch tllesset-folder (and compare it to a working one)

dutch = netherlandish - deutsch = german, that may be a little confusing for foreingners (especially amerkanskis never get it)

Well I installed it by a friend of mine again since you don't need the CD any more but without the 1.13 patch,
Night Ops crashed when you try to hire mercs, your mouse-pointer doesn't change when you hover over the Merc link en when you do press the link the game crash.

Dare me again you Fo..

Hey,

intsead of opening a new thread i hope someone will spot activity in my old thread.


Thing is i always get the message "squad found somebody" in the sector A1.
But there is only one civi and the map looks totaly different from the minimap.
To be precise the minimap has a couple of buildings on it and the actual map just a hut and some stuf that looks like a construction site.
I know some mods had "ghosts" remaining from JA but there was never anyone in this sector, afaik.

So whats up with that?



Kinda strange that night ops didnt catch too much attention in here, its pretty much the perfect, pre 1.13 JA.
If the strength training wouldnt be soo tedious^^

It's the 'foreign' factor I guess , people don't seem to want to try out mods that aren't fully in English .

Atm im stuck in strength training my main group a bit.
Going up&down roofs is sooooo tedious!
You can also get STR by beating folks, but that is usally also tedious and dangerous.
The only weak point of the mod imho.

the same thing i have when teleport to this sector at first day at 7 o'clock. don't use cheats )
mini map the same as sector map, it is possible, that you have broken installation.

in this sector you will find Cha. He say many things about Tyler and many things about burbulator (about burbulator explain Brammator in Shady Job, I don't think that foreing could understand this joke... But i try to translate it simple and clear). Actually, Cha and Tyler - is real man, greatest flooders in AIM forum.

Yeah, thats what the sector looks like on my minmap.
Strange.

I used your english version which is stickied in here and someone else was kind enough to pass me the german.exe for NO, so i cant see where an error could have occured.
Its not game crucial though, and i have never had any similar problems this far.
My progress is not that shabby

ah yeah, Sector A1 doesn't work for me, either. I use the german 1.02.

Ah, I see. He got executed in my game. He never went missing in my log, either.

Also Miguel and Carlos won't join me and the "Our men have been captured" quest isn't striked out, even though I rescued Dynamo and Shank from Tixa. Or did they mean another prison?

Actually none of my mercs got kidnapped, I just got that message when I visited Miguel and he told me that some men were captured. I also found a sector with a barn in one of the sectors Madlab could reside in before his message could appear, maybe that killed it a bit as well or maybe my install is broken a bit?
The other quests like the virus were working, though.
btw how do I get the mine income above 80%

Ok, cool.

So, is there a way to raise mine income above 80% or recruit Miguel and Carlos? Also I seem to remember a sector above Balime with a general but now when I try to visit it there's nothing there.

there's way for more than 80%, but i forgot it - miguel and carlos are afaik part of the manuel-quest (may be wrong here)

Thanks SU , Night Ops is a great mod , let down only by comparison to 1.13 (graphics , weapons etc.).
Of course it's better than Vanilla , but , it'd be nice if they could update NO and Shady Job to 1.13 standard .

NO never be on 1.13 because author think - 1.13 walk in wrong way, and i agree with him, and of course 1.13 always have tons of new bugs.
The appearance will never be better than the content Smile

SJ never be on 1.13 because SJ made in hex editor(like and NO Smile but NO was rewrite when source code was published).
So porting SJ on 1.13 = making new mod.

DBB has tons of useless but fun items and weapons , no ? While Nops has many excellent features , it still seems 'dated' ? Apologies , but to my eyes , the item mod that Smeagol has put a helluvva work into makes the game more interesting and visually attractive , while 'slipping in shit' just annoys me ! Smile

That's a pity , still , you guys are making different strides in prolonging our game too , so keep on going . :ok:
Have you any input / involvement in Horn of Africa ?

The Polish team have made a nice hybrid of Unfinished Business , much nicer to look at in higher res . So , as SJ was based on UB , I wondered if it were possible .
Never mind , it's still an excellent mod , well worth playing . Keep us in touch Su please on your side of JA Gaming .

All hybrid mods unplayable due bugs. All have state early beta.
Legin2 released, but it's still full of bugs.
