been a few years since ive played and first thing i did of course after the install was to come get the 1.13 used the one click install found here http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=172234&page=1#Post172234

seemed to install everything ok and ran the ini editor, saved changes (after fighting with win7 about permissions prrogress with windows bah humbug what a pain)
however once the ini saves and i launch th game no changes seem to have taken effect for ease of checking i changed the starting cash save launch the game and its still at default, exit the game check the inieditor and shows the new change but doesnt reflectin the game any tips on how to fix this?

also noticed new option in the ini showin you can now edit merc settings without using the proedit, how do i go about that? other than setting it to allow in the ini i mean is there a sepeprateprogram to edit the xmls or is it inside the ini editor somewhere?

sorry for the newb-ish questions just been a loooong time and trying to refresh myself with everything on a crash course as i will be out of touch soon offline, an wanted to have this to keep me sane from boredom Wink preciate the time ya take to read this and any info in advance take it easy and keep up the good work glad to see the community is still around

try copy the ini file to other drive likes D: then edit by notepad, after copy the ini back to the C:\Program Files. This is the big problem in WIN7 or VISTA because the OS won't let you change anything in C:\Program Files.

other simple solution is install the JA2 Original in C:\Program Files, then copy all files from C:\Program Files to the Drive D, let says D:\JA2 then apply the SCI into D:\JA2 folder, run it from D:\JA2. This way you original file was intact and you can copy it to other drive/folder to try other mod.

i used the second solution in my vista installation

The second solution is the best as it's a permanent fix for the problem. JA2 doesn't need to stay in it's original location as it's not registry dependant.
