Regarding the Letters from Enrico that you get, periodically, if you take "too long" to finish the game....are there any patches/mods that provide relief from this?

I like to use my playing of JA2 to "groom" my characters for use in future campaigns (Unfinished Business, obviously... as well as any new mods that come along.....Urban Chaos?, etc.).

Bottom-line, I like to drag-out game-play of JA 2 for as long as possible (OK, also because I just plain enjoy playing the game).

After I got the final letter...somewhere around day 155 (if memory serves) the one that's entitled "Urgent"...that basically destroys morale throughout Arulco (thus effectively cutting-off funds). After that, I stopped playing my current game of JA 2...just because I got discouraged. This was quite a few months ago now....though I still have it saved.

I'd rather not start-over....I mean, I probably will start a new game again, at some point, but I'd really like to finish this one first. I've made alot of progress with my Mercs....especially my "Custom-Merc".

So, my question....is there a patch/mod I could apply to my current-game that would re-establish morale (funding) and allow me to finish without re-starting?

Thanks, rj135pilot

welcome to the pit

after all question thats has not been solved for a gazillon of times

i assume your talking vanilla - you can't get rid of it, but however those three mails are reminders of the five-days-rule* (you will get the effect of that mail, but no mail later

---

*that means you have to START a fight every 5th day or loyality will suffer - it's sufficiend to shoot one redshirt and withdraw, though

You're saying that as long as I get into _Some_ combat with my Mercs at least every 5 (game)days, I'll never get any of those letters (from Enrico), and could, in theory, play JA 2 for as long as I want....and never loose funding?

yep - i had a 1400-days-vanilla-war but you have to start the fight (befor 9 am), defensive action doesn't count

You're up to (roughly) 1400 game-days in a game of Jagged Alliance 2?

Holy S***! I thought I liked the game.

Just curious....what is there left to do at that point?

By day 155 (in my game) I've visited basically every sector including "wilderness" sectors, etc(except Diedrianna's palace, of course...or the game would be over... and, I think, I've yet to do the Blood-Cat lair, if memory-serves).

Amongst other things, I've been looking for FN P90's (my Custom Merc is usually Ambi-dextrous... and _Always_ has Night Ops as his/her Specialties).

My Custom Merc has Stats in the mid 90's in most areas....yours must be straight 100's across the board!

Btw, does Urban Chaos allow Merc-importation from JA 2 and/or JA2: UB?

Thanks,
rj135pilot

nope - only ub-mods allow merc-importation

i had two goals with that - reduce the available manpower to just 18 (without using 18th century british tactics or outright shooting them) and repair and sell any item i found on the map - had an amrmoury in each mine

Yep, that seems to be the case with me as well. I am currently playing the 8,000+ enemies save game on Vanilla where Enrico morale canot be turned off.

my personal record was 28xx days in vanilla (game was lost due to hd-crash)

attempt was to liberate the country when my troop of 18 would regulary cost more then they could plunder.

there were only 14 days unensured contracts allowed

when a contract expired I had to take the cheapest available

if i do remember right there were about 20 casualties

Err.... if I may, that's not 100% correct.
I'm on day 600 and I've not fought every 5 days.
I shudder to think of the micro managing I would have had to done then..

I think if you secure all 5 towns, then you dont get any letters. (In my case San Mona is untouched)

To make a full disclosure though, I am facing some problems on day 602 to 610.
One of the following three things I did, messed things up.
1> got into a fight with the bloodcats
2> spoke to the scientist (for the robot).
3> Stole money from San Mona, took care of Kingpin but I guess it still makes the town hostile.

Anyways, 7 days later I started getting the letters... Sad

Clearing out the lair to see if that makes matters ok.
I've got 12 million right now but I want to secure my funding.

Reloading the game from day 600 odd if that doesnt work.

kingpin is a civillian - not an enemy, he doesn't count

as i get those letters pretty early (there are three of them) i can't say whether there is something prolongin the 'five days' later in the game - when you play 1.13 on expert it won't happen anyway - you have to fight in those 'five days'
