The New Backpack Inventory system looks exciting but it is also frustrating to a noob like me.

Also in the ja2 options ini. there is a feature that says if you dual weld sniper rifles with full attachments. having a third backup sniper rifle, one combat pack and one backpack will give u a 50% sight penalty.

May I ask if the sight penalty applies if you do all of the above at once? Ie. if u dual weld a sniper rifle w full attachments AND having a third backup sniper rifle AND carries one combat pack AND one backpack?

Or does the sight penalty applies if you do just one of the above?

Cheers.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask if there is a faq for the backpack/niv system.

How about that one, it's a general introduction. If you have specific questions about the system, feel free to post them here.

I *guess* it's the worst case. If you have one large gun in each hand, one slung over your back and a combat+backpack, then you get the full 50% penalty on your cover value (as you are much easier to spot when loaded like a mule), with normally less penalty.

But I didn't bother that much with the cover system, so :whoknows:

Pretty lousy, IMHO. Whoever wrote this missed half the point.

Well, the emphasize clearly lies on 'general', however, as there is no 'HDIW: NIV' and that one was the only one I remembered ...
Sure it ends where the fun begins and the author showed solely the default starting lbe, but it gives a first idea what the system is about.

LOL well it doesn't require a technical explanation, it's not a tech-heavy system. Plus I think I've written more text about NIV than about HAM Very Happy

I didn't want to imply it needs one! Should have taken your weapon guide as example?
Anyway, let's agree I just didn't want to search for all that stuff myself but found that introduction some days before, that's why I posted it, to provide a basis for further research.

With this you can eliminate the sight penalties when carrying certain equipment?

1. How do you do it? Increase the number of this setting? or decrease?

2. Does this setting apply to enemies or only mercs?
