I will repeat just to make it clear:

Aggressive personality...
How much extra CtH and damage I have?
How much penalty there is on repairing items, picking locks...?


"Heat intolerant" & "Fear of insects" disabilites
What is "reduced overall performance in tropical sectors"? Less APs, CtH, Energy points?

I know what the character traits do. But I wanna know the numbers behind them.
They're in the code, and if one would know the figures, one could make a better decision which personality/disability to chose.
For example, the only disablities I consider when craeting an IMP are "Heat intolerant" & "Fear of insects". If I knew by how much the performance of the merc would be degraded, I would know which is a better option. Or if I knew the figures, I would realize that choosing a disablity (extra points for skills) is not worth it.

Also, one more question for Sandro (or anyone elso who knows):
Feature of STOMP: " * Added some small chance that carried explosives can explode when struck by heavy explosion."

Now...
Normaly volatility defines the chance for an explosive/granade to go off by other explosions, when they're on the ground.
And for a volatility value of 1, the item has a 1/100 chance to go off. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Did Sandro only add the possibility of stuff blowing up while in the inventory (with the same calculation based on volatility), or is there more to it?

And btw (probably not STOMP related, but might as well ask here)... Does the damage of the explosion have any effect on the chance for an explosive to blow up?

I only choose Disability to get more points when i choose merc Skills(MED,EXP,WIS etc),and all of those disabilities are Non-Swimmer or Psycho.
All of my IMPs has to have a disability, and when making more than one, not two should have the same.

Its still a trait and its should be in game.It can be improved by Sandro

And i think that Camouflage and Rooftops(the trait,its a trait where merc is good at shooting from a roof) should be back as a Minor Traits

I've downloaded stomp v1.2. Copied and overwrite the data and data1.13 files in my JA2 directory.
Clicked on JA2_3578_STOMPv1.2.exe. Then I got two errors:

"

There are also other errors that I can't read because of the blur.

I'm playing on Windows 7 Home Premium.
Using only JA2 gold edition with JA 1.13.
JA 1.13 works without a problem.

I also tried v1.12 stomp, which also gave these two errors.

ummm,if you will download and install latest version of Ja2 1.13,you dont need to download STOMP,because STOMP is already in latest 1.13

Ah, I installed this game on may 22 2011, and a newer version of JA2 1.13 was released on may 30 2011.

So if I download the latest version of ja2 1.13, everything will be fine? No SVN or anything required?

Rangers are already plenty awesome - they hardly need more perks :>

Perhaps it would fit in with a new secondary skill, say~

Infiltrator.
- Can deploy on all available sides of the map, regardless of travel vector.
- +20% damage with suppressed weapons. (or whatever)

Well rangers are indeed really overpowered in case (additional with those new abilities) rangers can only be created if character trait "Loner" was choosen (f.e. an IMP creation)


??? - that simply reduces the players choices. it is also stupid if you want to change the place from where to start your attack sneak around or simply invade from someahere else

1. why must a ranger be a loner. tell me just one understandable reason besides to balance your teleporter

2. yes it's a game, but entering a sector from the north detecting some ugly tanks (or whatsoever you just don't like where it is) and asking your transporterchief to beam you to the south-east corner of the map is star trek and not jagged alliance

the jagged alliance approach is RETREAT -> RETHINK -> REGROUP -> ATTACK LATER (he who runs away may fight the other day)

1.13 is about increasing choices. if you don't believe it ask marlboro man (he was involved in some famous battles about that)

btw is not a vector but a whormhole. if you don't believe that just look it up in any maths-book.

i don't use bodybuilders but i use scouts and i'm not willing to accept 'every scout a loner' to balance a cheat i'd never use (as i said this is jagged alliance not startrek goes nicaruga)

and no infiltrator can magically 'jump' across a sector - an infiltrator is better in 'not being seen'. it does not matter at what he is not seen, it does not mean his parents are batman and wonder woman.

your use of the word vector nicely shows your misconception btw - if it was a vector you still needed to bypass that 'tank' - that's why i called it a wormhole. if you come from the north and decide it is better to come from the south that simply means you do not loose that day you need to march around them and thus biff and flo (training militia in drassen) do not get wiped out.

this thing kills the need for any 'strategical' planing in ja2 and thus it kills a lot of the fun

1) this adds the strategic depth of a crossword puzzle

2) This would be tactical not strategical but it is again the crossword puzzle

3) a hell of work 4 a bloody cheat
- Your transporter chief may pass unpassable terrain (fences, rock, buildings... and ground levels)
- an entire new system to enter a sector

4) as Logi said the result is a game with less planing (use of brain)

5) 4 all those users who think war means in 3 days to Peking and back (the last 2 days were holliday btw)
