Since there's a priceless moments... what about stupid moments? I'm sure there's a lot of those among you guys.

I have a lot of them but I can't remember them all... let's see...

So, I was in one of the sectors outside Meduna and was about to destroy a tank, when I fumbled somehow with the mouse, right clicked and shoot my own team. Worst part is, they were all clumped up. Figuring that it wasn't that bad, I'll just finish it the next turn. Wrong. The tank decides it's a great idea to place a cannon shell right in the middle of my team, taking them all out. /facepalm

Needles to say, I had to reload. T_T

Had Dimitri as a mule with a backpack full of primed C4, Grenades, Mortar rounds and basically anything in the game that goes Boom. So I tried throwing a grenade with him, slip of the mouse and BOOM!!!!! Up goes Dimitri like the 4th of July! Took the 3 mercs to either side of the line with him. There must have been about 9 or 10 consecutive explosions from that one dropped grenade!

I told Dimitri to set up a breaching charge with TNT, detonate on turn 3 to surprise the Queen. He ended up blowing up himself and Mike who was behind the door as well.

During my assualt on drassen i decided to have my whole squad take cover behind some of these Go-cart looking things. I get them all into position and its looking good.

Enemy teams turn comes up, first bullet fires..pings off our cover and im like LOL, then the building my mercs were in and everything in a 10 square radius goes boom and im left with a silly look on my face that looked a little something like this O_o

Igor and Grunty took cover behind a jeep, or vehicle of some sort, on Drassen Airport (Smeagol's new maps) and learned the hard way how this sort of cover eventually blows up if the enemy puts a couple of bursts in them. Sad

I also feel quite stupid whenever I toss a smoke grenade to cover a friend, and hits the poor guy in the head for 1 health point. I wonder how Conrad would take that, he seems a bit of a hot-head.

EDIT: WFT?! I missed Arotashi's entry before I posted. Funny. Smile

I think one of my best (amongst many stupid moments) was soon after I picked up JA2 back in 98 or 99 (bear in mind I had no role-playing game experience - I do have some excuse) and had figured out from the manual that I could repair stuff. After invading the university section of Cambria for the first time I discovered a used LAW and set Barry to fixing it. Uh Oh I had him repairing that damn thing for about a week in real life before eventually discovering an unused LAW and working out what I was doing wrong. :biglaugh:

I am sure there is a lot i forgot, but before a few days, i had some bouncing moments with grenades:

The stupid one: i find the last enemy sitting behind a window in a house, easy to shoot normaly, but i decided to throw a stun nade to steal his stuff next round, my nadeexpert Barry is outside the window, just 2 fields away. I throw the nade PERFECTLY, and hit the body of the enemy soldier, but the nade bounced back from his body out of the window again and hits Barry, he of course with molotovs in his pockets.... exploding completly. DEAD.

The funny one: was throwing a nade on an enemy, in his front 2 enemys dying on the ground... the grenade landing on the first dying one, killing him, then bouncing on the second dying soldier, killing him too, bouncing on to my original Target, hits him -1 and..... NOTHING, the nade is a dud. I realy had to lough so hard unbelievable.

another 2 examples why JA is so great. Smile

I think one of my best (amongst many stupid moments) was soon after I picked up JA2 back in 98 or 99
While talking of the good old times when JA2 was fresh out of the box:

I still remember my first attack in Grum. I was playing on "Easy" so my team (I recall Barry and Meltdown were part of it) had not advanced notably in experience. And I also hardly had looted much good things. After taking Chitzena I hired Wolf spending most of my money for a 14-days contract. The reason was that I had tried to hire Shadow for a day and he refused - I must have had some casualties before - and I thought that when I offer them more money they were willing to join. So I called Wolf, offered 14 days, and he accepted.

I gave Wolf, who then was the most experienced of my team, my best weapon (probably a G3 or so) and all, three or so, breaklights. Then my team attacked Grumm Mine at night. I had them sneaking around without any enemy contact when Wolf heard a noise near by. I had him standing up and throwing a breaklight....

...it bounced against a tree and landed back between Wolf's feet. *bam* headshot and the great warrior was dead - on his first day of service, and without having seen a single enemy. Not to forget that now my best weapons and all remaining breaklights were lying in a cricle of light in full vision of the enemy.

Somehow the rest of the team made it on its own with their revolvers and SMGs. But with most of them wounded so that it took several days of doctoring before I could proceed to the next sector (thanks to "Easy" I not was attacked in the mine). The further fightings in Grumm were similar hard and bloody, that's why I called it "Stalingrum", avoided it in the next campaigns and still somehwat fear it when it comes to attacking Stalingrum.

Man, some epic moments out there. Loved the dud grenade.
(I didn't know that explosives in your mercs inventory could explode) intense.

My stupid moment have been simple fail.
I was trying to shoot a redshirt with Shadow.
I had an mp5 with foregrip, i was prone & was 7 tiles away from the redshirt and couldn't hit him.
I fired like 8 shots in 2 turns and couldn't land a bullet.
The redshirt simply fire a few rounds and killed Shadow.

I Lol'd, but was most unhappy.

Since I've killed everything that flies, walks, or moos in the game, I thought back to when I had first read about being able to steal stuff.

One night in a sector outside Drassen I had IMP with 85 strength sneak up to an enemy and run the last couple of steps to him. Two well placed punches and the guy went down. I was all excited and didn't have enough Action Points to hit him again.

Enemy turn and the guy gets right back up and sprays me with lead an MP5! AGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHuuuH No more IMP and I was too dumb to have saved before I started sneaking in on him

I just started playing Jagged Alliance 2 the first time on Steam the other day and came here looking for a forum. Seeing this thread, and being a noob I thought I'd share a few of my stupid moments so far starting out.

First time throwing a grenade. I was in some tall grass and sneaking up a couple guys who were locking in on another guy in my group who was pinned down. I threw my grenade and started backing up. I waited - but no boom. Hmmm. I said maybe it'll go off next turn. Nope. Still no boom. Turns out I had looked at my inventory and mistaken my canteen for a grenade. It looked like a grenade, and I'd assaulted them with a canteen. I got my IMP and a few other guys killed in that firefight. After half my crew is wiped out Grizzly says something like "I don't think this battle's ever going to end." He was not liking me at all.

Another time I had Grizzly (or maybe Grunty) sneak up to the corner of a house to try to sneak a shot around the corner at a baddie who hadn't seen us yet. Ooops. He heard Grizzly and turns and puts two bullets in him next turn. I have Barry I think a few steps behind slightly out to the side. Grizzly only has a few AP so I turn to try to get him out of direct fire. I bring up Barry's gun to shoot - and end up killing Grizzly by shooting him in the head. It looked like my line of fire was OK, but nope.

Yeah, beginning to learn some things about the game. I didn't realize shirt color mattered until you guys were talking about it. Come to think of it one of the red shirt guys did seem to take a lot of shots to kill.

It also seems like some of the bad guys can shoot alot farther more accurately than I can with their handguns, but haven't figured that out yet either.

Law of large numbers. You always have a tiny chance to hit as long as there's a clear line of fire. They don't have to care about ammo, so they shoot a lot and sooner or later, one of those one-percenters will connect.

stupid moments....damn i had a lot of those, i can't remember even half of those. I'm a hard-core player of ja2 been playing it from 2000 and still today, best game ever..... ever....ever...... thanx to all of you people who are keeping the game alive with mods and everything. ok now for some of my stupid moments. Had shadow sneaking around a corner with intent to knife the lights out of a guy, he turned and shot me (i was at full ap at the time), my health was down to half and i had 12 ap so i had a great idea to try to steal his weapon so i did, it worked, i had an enemy weapon the fact that i had no AP didnt bother me ) i pressed the next turn button. to bad that the goddamn enemy has a knife in pocket...bye bye shadow. Oh, i almost forgot, when i played jagged alliance for the first time i didn't know that you can create your own character, didnt know that you CAN get money from the mines!!!! So it looked like this, my team was made from dimitri, ira and hamous and when i wanted to take a city i hired shadow for a day and did a night attack (had one silenced weapon and throwing knifes and a lot of patience with load & save) oh my source of income was selling weapons to tony Smile i had drassen, san mona, cambria and when i attacked grumm i find the guy who runs the mine and i had a daily income finally.....was so happy (dumbass) cheers guys
