For those of you that love Fallout (like me) and own it (like me) you may like the upcoming mod, which is a cross between fallout and JA2 as far as i can tell.

*warning* the mod is based on fallout with ja sprites (or whatever you call them) this means if you dont have fallout you wont be able to play it, but just in case..and plus if you dont have fallout but you like rpgs, buy it!

I've seen news on the mod at http://www.nma-fallout.com/

If you want the main site, you better know your russian http://ja2.org/index.php?c=2#

If you're saying it will be a Fallout game with Ja Characters put in, I think I'll pass. From the screen shots I was hoping they had somehow taken the Ja tactical engine and put it in a Fallout storyline. I was really looking foreward to that.
Since playing Ja I'm spoiled for cumbersome games. Fallout's story was great but it would be difficult to go back to that very slow and featureless combat system after having played Ja.

No it will be a JA2 mod. Have a look at the screenshots (which look great btw). They'll be using the JA2 tactical engine.

That's great news. Perhaps I didn't understand what he was saying because I know I've seen some of the screenshots and they definately looked like Ja2 style gameplay.
I'm back to eagerly awaiting this one.

JA2 engine + Fallout world = The Fallout Tactics that should have been.

This sounds fantastic and I for one can't wait to play it. :type:

I agree with you doodle, I disliked tactics, but JA2 mixed with fallout, sounds like my kind of game

But what about the CRAPPY multiplayer of tactics? Man, that sucked balls! Anywho, I think that there should be a JA2 multiplayer when the source gets released (IF). It could be handled like Baldurs Gate in terms of map movements (leader/captain making decisions) and the time acceleration could be a radio button stating that you are ready to go for time compression. There would have to be a chat/typing message feature and it would probably only work with people you knew (who wants to start off in Arulco with the impatient 12yr old who spends all of your money and then logs off/crashes the server?). Still, if you could make it work with I/O and requests for functions, man that would be the end-all be-all of gaming!

About the mod, though, it looks great. I especially like the "graffiti" and drab colors. Thanks for the heads up!
