I'm having a problem with the JA v1.13 sound that I havent seen addressed yet. Basically I cannot get the theme song to stop playing. It plays at random times even when I've exited out of the game. In my attempts to solve the problem I've gone as far as uninstalling the game and resetting my hard drive to the factory setting, wiping out everything I've put on the computer since I bought it about 3 months ago. As far as I can tell there are no JA2 files left on my computer at all.
It plays at a very low volume, nearly inaudible (at first I thought I had playing too much and was going crazy...) and at random times though it seems to be most prevalent after the computer has gone into sleep mode and I've logged back in. As far as I can tell the only way to get it to stop is by restarting the comptuer. Also disconcerting is the fact that there is no way to mute it and it doesnt seemed tied to the computer's volume control either.
I got my initial copy of the game through GOG.com and then installed the v1.13 patch. I was attempting to run the game on a dell inspiron using win7 and was having trouble reloading saved games, after consulting this board, I reinstalled the game to a new folder on the c drive seperate from the program files and ran the application as the administrator while I was playing the game. All of this was done on the computer's administrator account but I've noticed that the problem persists even when I switch accounts.
I am really hoping someone can help me out with this as I love the fact that I can play an updated version of JA2 but can't really have this theme music coming on while I am in class or at work.

hi purpleeagle,

welcome to the pit

sure it is jacked alliance? i had a similar problem once it was a logitech headset connected to the computer (this will cause a nOObstorm on my head) - i got totally mad with it and wiped off everything, but it did't stop (secondary soundcard and plugged in the headset from the rear) apparently my daughter saved me by redocorating the room and with that pulling the plugs

hope you can solve it

Thanks for the quick feed back, I guess I forgot to mention that my computer is a laptop. I also havent been using any sort of headset. I went ahead a tried messing with the integrated sound processors (disabling, reenabling them, ect) but to no avail, as soon as the computer went into sleep mode the problem started back up again. I am thinking about contacting GOG.com for some assistance but I am not sure if they will be willing/able to help since I installed v1.13, probably voided any warranty protections I had.
