I wrote about JA2 on my weekly column. (I know, I know, it's already 2005... but I just discovered the game this year, so sue me.) :blah:

read it here

well... i guess many gamers will totally agree with you one this issue...

i don`t have time to shoot my university commilitones either, gotta play ja2 mods...

good point after all.

btw:
games might be incredibly addictive. I once spent nearly a whole day in an internet cafe in (guess) Manila... as it was comparably cheap there...

playing some online games. The real funniest thing i saw was this like 10 or 11 year old boy playing counter-strike. In the middle of his killing spree, his mother came and brought him some bread n butter... that is a mother like every gamer wanted his mother to be like.

so, i gotta read that column now. Do you have a certain array of topics or are you free to chose what your column is all about every week?

Hey Scorpion, yeah, tell me about addictive games. JA2 is taking over all of my free time. Good thing I have lots of it. :naughty:

My column is about anything I feel like writing about for that week, as long as it's relatively true. :type:

well ja2 gotta be one of the most addictive games, as the whole micro-management comes into play and you have so much freedom in strategic planning and stuff... not to forget quests and searching maps for stuff (particuliarly in mods)

also, every quick-load and doing a tiny thing different may cause another result (as there are some roll-of-the-dice moments) in fighting... this allows enormous experimenting in fights. so this fights, taking 5-10min of game time, will take much more in real time without player noticing. maybe an effect of turn-based system...
don`t know.

thats nice to have a certain freedom of choice when it comes to topics. Particuliarly if this freedom is used to make propaganda for my favourite game...

Nice bit Dex. Concise and accurate. I never had neck-related headaches until I started having time to devote to classic games (JA2, Darklands, Fallout) that had such depth and playability --replayability too!-- leaving me with dry eyes and thirsting for more. Take it easy and ice up Wink Also, beware the callous on the mouse hand (ok, never had one, but sore fingers from a console are a hazard on the weekend)!

Scorpion and Lochmacher:
Thanks guys, the pain only got worse -- but I never stopped playing, HAH! Finally tried acupuncture and it worked. (If you want to learn about all the gory details, read my column here )

Am now about to take Balime. Drassen, San Mona, Chitzena, and Alma are in the bag. But dang, I still don't have any of the good rifles.

Like the bit about the balding porcupine...

If I ever hurt myself doing something foolish (is it ever--despite how staunchly we defend it-- anything else?), I'll keep it in mind.

Balime... Those ingrates. Nice shops, if you like the odd regen booster. Smile I still prefer (Gold edition that is) the Steyer, so that's my "good rifle".
