Oh crap. I'll add the .edt files but I never fool with gap files. Japanese overdub movies never really bothered me either.

And when something is corrected (like a misconception, faulty memory) we all win. I know you know this already but thought I'd say it anyway.

I fixed the rapidshare link in my previous post. I also added the accompanying new face. Please check that and confirm. I'd like to have it up there as well for anyone who wants it.

The only thing I wasn't able to really get was the exact volume. My sounds tend to be a little lower volume than vanilla Ja2 ones.

Any idea how to rectify this? They sound fine on playback but once in game they lose a little volume.

I'd like to finish the Gurkha character I started a while back and would also like to add a few more. But I'd rather not have to do all that work twice.

okay downed it again - if they need it i make them a little louder (have to test them first), that is easy as it can't be much

is it just me or are the eye/mouth coords missing?

is that you on the pics, i think i've seen that face somewhere (and i never was in pennsylvania)

If you do this, please let me know. Or at least know how you did it.
I have a few others that are a little worse than that one and want to get some female voices done. But these won't be easy to do twice.

Logisteric

They should correspond to the first IMP. The face is 205. They worked fine for me.
Please let me know if there is a problem.

Sadly, I am nowhere near that scary looking.

I think he's Sam Fisher from some cartoon or game somewhere. I made him on the request of someone on this forum but liked the result and decided to use it.

I'm just to the south of Pennsylvania. Baltimore. But I like it up there quite a bit.

which program do you use? for me it's adobe audition 3.0, which is semi-professional, so it probably won't help you how i do it

i saw no eye-mouth-movement in sti-view (my fault) - as we can add new imp-pix now (instead of overwriting old ones) and there are xmls for the coords i'll add them in a readme

as i'm supossed to play nanny tomorrow morning i'll do it than

051_008 and some others are cut too short at the end, do you still have the original recordings?

No. The one he made had a green face and some kind of head gear. Mine is just a face. We both did the work in response to the same poster's request. I think the guy liked his more but I don't really like faces with permanent 'attachments'. I have a few for the WW2 mod but as a rule I like mine to be bareheaded and without camo makeup so they are more universal.

I used the media player recorder and edited it with Goldwave.

Logisteric

You are probably right. I'll just get your fixed version if you don't mind.

Logisteric

I seriously doubt it. I mistakenly installed a new OS without saving some of the stuff from my c drive a few years ago. A few animations bought the farm then and I think that is where the original recordings were. I could always redo them though.

Editing was kind of a pain in the ass but the recording was kind of fun.

when i test them tomorrow i'll find out whether it can be heard at all; it's normally the lat third of the last consonant that is cut off - they are far better than the speechfiles from uc or the scorpion so if it can't be heard ingame i don't give a damn about it - does goldwave hav an optical display? that helps a lot when you cut them.

try to use this - it's freeware and quite good - media player is crap

Yeah, Goldwave does have an optical display. It's pretty easy to use but was still a pain in the ass for so many files. If it had a batch feature that could have changed the format of all files in one click it would have been great. It doesn't seem like that would have been too hard to do.

well, audition uses one file where you set markers, combine them and export the result in any format you want -> standard wav (for the gapfile generator) and lossy wavs or oggs for the game - if you set blanks for files you don't need it pushes them out even with the right name, you just throw away those you don't need afterwards

as i said ealier adding manuel is a piece of cake (as he is a full rpc from ub). the planned eskimo from ja2 was never more than a face; that face has been reused in ub (not an eskimo, btw) and as you say also in nOps. afaik the eskimo was supossed to run the railway that never showed up in ja2.

I think it's more likely that they wanted to get the thing done in time to make some profit. It has a lot of half implemented or commented out things for (I guess) this very reason.

well, i did not see the eskimo - but if you did not find manuel you missed out one epic battle (there are two variants, when you meet him he's either on the offense or in defense (same map) - and you better keep his butt save, buddy
