Zetsubou Billy by Maximum the Hormone is a recent favourite of mine, but most of the time I alternate between HIGH and MIGHTY COLOUR, UVERworld, Aya Hirano, Yoko Kanno, Origa and Home Made Kazoku.

The most obvious choise of music to listen to while killing things seems to be metal & industrial. Smile My favourites include Rammnstein, Opeth, Rob Zombie, Strapping Young Lad, Meshuggah, Metallica, Disturbed and Insomnium.

Recently I've gotten into all kinds of weird electronic music, and noticed that in some strange way, Shpongle is a really nice band to listen to while playing. Other great bands for a bit different kind of an atmosphere are Autechre,

N.W.O., Psalm 69, Scarecrow, Burning Inside, So What, The Missing and The Fall...all by Ministry.
Also the song Smothered Hope, a collaboration between Ministry and Skinny Puppy.
Those songs each cover a wide range of moods and atmosphere(but all of it pretty dark).

Most of the songs from the albumDe-manufacture by Fear Factory(terrible lyrics though).

Almost anything from the album None of You Attention by Septic Death(Pushead's punk band from the 80's & 90s. Most know of him as the promo-artist for bands like the Misfits, Metallica, etc.).

Speaking of The Misfits...Horror Business(the chorus with the ultra-catchy "I'll put a knife right in you!" is priceless!), Devil's Whorehouse, Green Hell, [/i]Last Caress[/i], Ratt Fink, Speak of the Devil...Hell, ANYTHING by the Misfits is hard to beat.

When I first started playing JA2 I actually listened to Enya, lol. It was a way of relaxing to me (you know, the relaxing qualities of blowing peoples heads off) and so Enya helped out a lot. Wink

Recently I've been listening to Evan's Blue while playing.

Stumbled upon this old CD,where I had replaced the battle music and tensors-years ago-with some spanish guitar music.Liked the way it sounded, and thought someone else might want to give it a try.Place in Data folder of the game if interested: http://www.badongo.com/file/3032538

Ja2 with relaxing music...sorry, I just don't get it. Although this game gives you forever to make up your mind, it really kicks ass!!!!

This is why I find music like Accept or Mindfunk or Tchicovsky or Monk much more suited to this. But, to each his own.

I'd like to also say that I like Accept or Angel Witch a million times better than most Enya music I've ever heard. But again, to each his own.

I really like the traditional Celtic song she did in Rob Roy but I like Seawinds a lot better.

Ha ha. I recorded ultra-violent Prodigy trax for my tensors and battlesong. The nothing trax are all Aphex Twin (he did the ambient music for Fallout series). Marimbad something by Leftfield I think. I left the two creepy creature trax alone.

Lately I have been listening to the following CD mix I made while playing:

Bela Lugosi is Dead - Bauhaus :Turns JA2 into a Michael Mann film with the Hammer Films inspired guitar/amp noises, the perfect drums and Peter Murphy's undeniable vocals.

I'm Afraid of Americans - David Bowie(w/Trent Reznor): Appropriate somehow.

Fight the Power - Public Enemy: Anthems of rebellion go with JA2 like peanut butter goes with jelly and "Fight the Power" is an anthem to end all anthems!

Trashed - Black Sabbath(w/Ian Gillan of Deep Purple on vox)

Hey Joe - Jimmy Hendrix

Dead Embryonic Cells - Sepultura

Angel of Death - Slayer

Rock & Roll Underground - G.G. Allin & The Murder Junkies: If you do not know who G.G. was, you probably do not want to know.

Reload - Ministry: Perfect JA2 song.

Stigmata - Ministry: A drum riff that simply cannot be ignored and the usual Ministry atmosphere.

Slaughterama - GWAR

Jesus Christ Pose - Soundgarden

Distant Early Warning - RUSH

@GOTH

Watched The Hunger way back in the early 1980s I think. Rarely comes on television here in teh states so I have not seen it since then.

I have not heard of Sepultura doing a cover of the Bauhaus song but then again I have not really kept up with music so much since I quit my own band(was like my band ruined music for me or something for a while!?) and most newer music does not do much for me.

The NIN/David Bowie collaboration...yeah, Trent Reznor even appears in the video for the song. Bowie might have also released a version with no Reznor for all I know as well.

I Defy. Punk/hardcore basically. Band is still around today(for like 13 years now) but the drummer is the only original member. At the MySpace page there are two older tracks I sing on(The drinking anthem "I'm Heaving Now" and "So Proudly WE Fail" and two newer tracks with Jason on vox(after I quit which was back in like '99 or so).

What happened? Why did you left the band?

Health reasons mostly. In contracted Diabetes when I was 23 and did not do the best job of taking care of it the first 3-4 years I had it. By the third year I was with the band I had had the disease for only 6 years or so but it was already getting pretty bad with occasional seizures/insulin reactions, neuropathy, etc. and on top of that were the usual things that go along with being in a moderately popular local rock band(don't want to go into details here. Use your imagination.). One thing I will say is that we were so notoriously alcoholic that bars we played at often just paid us with beer...usually starting with several pitchers before we went on stage(while the opening bands) and ending with the closing of the bar.

Plus there were the usual things that make people unhappy in bands. Drummers insisting that their bad lyrical submissions be given credence(and drummers are the hardest members to replace...especially in bands KNOWN for being fast and our drummer may have been the fastest drummer in the city and probably for a few surrounding cities as well. A double-kick monster.), in-band squabbling, etc.

Shortly after leaving the band and my friend Jason taking over, my health took a serious turn for the worse. Had like 50-75 seizures over the next 3 years and went comatose once(and again later).

Was a lot of fun while it lasted though. Wink
