Laser Sight & Reddot LAM dont give any values.
SCI_AIMNASv17.02_r4057_20110417

*Edit.
Reddot Lam dont give a value, but sometimes it give a pistol to-hit modifier +18
*
Same for Insight LAM
.50 Boewolf Rifle RAS
To-Hit Modifier -30 / +71 = + 41 with Laser Sight.
When replace it with the LAM-200 nothing change.
Both give 20+.
Seems Reddot LAM/Laser Sight/Insight LAM 200 all give the same value.
When change it with a Reddot Lam i get 18+.

Do they not give to all weapons the bonus?

Thanks again for all the hard work, it makes ja 2 a wonderful and immersive experience!

Have a question on gun attack volume.

The AKMS has a volume of 5.

The AK series that fires the 5.45 round has a volume of
50 - (AK-105, Abakan,AEK-971) same loudness as many pistols
54 - (AKS-74U)
55 - (AKS-74U,AKS-74 Tactical)
58 - (AK-74 & Variants)
etc.

60 - AEK-973 firing 7.62
80 - other AK firing 7.62

But the AK-9 firing the 9x39 subsonic round has a volume of 70.

So with a sound suppressor installed the 5.45 guns are softer than the AK-9.

Other 9x39 18 guns are louder as well.

56 (AS Val)
60 (VSS Vintorez,Groza OC-14-4A-01)
64 (VSk-94)
70 (Vikhr SR-3 Compact)

And how come the Kashtan a single handed weapon has an accuracy of 6 more than an m16 (5)

Thank you

Thanks for pointing the loudness issue out. It's rather easy to miss stuff like that. I'll fix it, when I find the time.

As for the Kashtan, iirc it had accuracy 6 in vanilla 1.13 as well. Don't think I changed anything there...

AIMNAS V18 is in the books...

- fixed the missing rod&spring merge
- fixed Korth Revolver
- added M202 rockets
- fixed loudness for the AKs
- the Items I added after V17 got released (MAS-49, Match Trigger for the Ruger rifles, etc...)

The Update can be found as usual on my skydrive, maybe Tais will do a new SCI with it as well.

*Edit:
Copied over my existng Version 17.
Only recopied my Ja2_Options.INI.

I get an error when run the Ja2.exe.
Message is:
Jagged Alliance 2 v1.13 windowed mode requires a color depth of 16bpp or less. (; If you like to play in Windowed Mode, you have to switch your Dektop to 16 Bit!) Oops not readed this.
After changing SCREEN_MODE_WINDOWED = 0, all is fine.

After checked the Ja2_sp.ini
You had ENEMIES_DROP_ALL_ITEMS = 1

Something changed.

When sneak (real time sneak) and scroll the map simultanious, the screen is laggy(stagnate).
Not have that with version 17.

Might be related to the lights mercs cast at night. Try to toggle it off with "g" during night missions. Don't know what causes it, but it is annoying.

Yes it is.

I'll test it.

*Edit.
Much better, but still a little laggy.
Odd.

I test with copy folders one by one, see which folder/files causes this problem.

First need fresh copy of the install Sad

**
Did a new instal with SCI_AIMNASv17.02_r4057_20110417
Start a new game and all was fine

Copied AIMNAS V18 in the new folder & overwritten.
Laggy again.
So there is a file that makes my scrolling laggy, but which?

The entire game's running slower than usual. I wonder, maybe some item limit's been hit?

EDIT numba too: No, browsing a sector's inventory definitely slows things down. Causes missclicks and such.

Is it possible for a non-modder like myself to fix that in a previous version? I'm using the SCI from Chatner, and since I've made numerous tweaks and experiments I'd like to keep that and just fix the rod&spring if at all possible (i.e. using the XML-editor) Smile

If you want to fix it, do the following:

Open the xml editor, go to merges, add aluminum rod as 1st item, spring as 2nd item and a. - rod&spring as 1st result. add type easy and add some Ap cost of your liking (as you probably won't be merging those two items during turn based, you can add any value you want).

If the merge is already in there, the editor will tell you so.

Might add a screenshot soon (opening the editor on my slow-mo PC takes a while...).

Then I really don't understand those complaints. Of course new stuff gets added. That's what happens when new exe's get introduced and when the stuff is missing in the ini, you'll get those red lines in the startup screen, telling you what is actually missing...

It's really no big deal when a line in the ini is missing, as the game will simply use the default settings for the missing line... you can easily add in any missing line manually into the ini.

This has bothered me as well. So much that when I finish the new xml editor (yes still working on it, just wish I had more time) one of the things I plan on working on is adding the ability for users to save their favorite INI settings for each option and then when they load their saved settings if there is a new option they get a prompt on how they want to set that one. And because it is sometimes more fun to play or at least see what the modder wanted, I also plan to make it easy for moders to add their picks for each option and for the user to go with that (toying with the idea of letting moders force their choices on some or all options, but that could be really unpopular).

So yah, will be a while since the xml editor wont be done until fall at my current pace.

... the ability for users to save their favorite INI settings for each option...
Doc Folder
Per default, merging (overwriting existing property values + adding missing ones) of INI files is disabled.
BUt you can enable it for specific INI files inside your ja2.ini.

Just put the property "MERGE_INI_FILES" in your ja2.ini.

For example, if you want to enable merging for the files "Ja2_Options.ini" and "Ja2Settings.ini" just enter
the following line in your ja2.ini file:

MERGE_INI_FILES = Ja2_Options.ini, Ja2Settings.ini

Now you can put your custom Ja2_Options.ini and Ja2Settings.ini inside your
"Profiles\UserProfile_JA2113" folder. Please note, you only need to put the custom properties (that differ from the base 1.13 INI) plus the section name
inside your custom INI-Files. That's all.
