Guys, guys, regardless of whether it is meant to make a difference or not, in all me previous attempts I have:
-always liberated alma first
-and yes, always been given the quest by matt (i'd have not known about tixa otherwise)
-always attempted to treat him with my squad medic, who has maxed out the skill and been given expert status in the new skill system. I always get the message stating that he needs not immediate first aid, but rather rest. I've tried running the clock forward for the hell of it, but non-squad npcs are not able to rest as far as I know. He may request aid once he starts his dialogue, but as I said I can never get him to start.
-On this occasion I did also try having shank talk to him, as well as my other men, which also resulted in the room being fairly full. No change.

However, depends what you mean by 'friendly' merc....the closest fit to that I see in the new traits/characteristics system is 'sociable' which I admittedly haven't used. My team tend to use things like phlegmatic, intellectual and such for support roles like techs, medics, leaders, and aggressive or malicious for cqb/sniper/machinegunner etc. If anyone knows of a AIM merc that has been given the sociable trait, I can try that as a test?

If you just mean choosing the friendly speech option, I always do that with npc's anyway unless they take a bad tone with me. In this case I try friendly repeatedly, and have then gone through a random combination of all the other ones, makes no difference.

edit:
Oh, also, if I cannot complete the quest can I actually get 100% loyalty in alma? Because tbh I could use the extra revenue from the mine, having hired conrad n all.

There's a quest to kill some bloodcats to the east of Alma that'll give loyalty.

Otherwise, defending the city with minimum militia casaulties, taking nearby towns and destroying nearby patrols gives loyalty too.

If I take Alma before Tixa I normally have 100 loya before I show Dynamo to his brother

don't kill the sarge btw - talk to him and let him go

Same, I kill the general after he lets slip about the r&d place (cant remember the name of it, sorry), but I dont appear to have much choice about that.

But again, I seriously doubt that affects dynamo recruitment prospects.

Are you sure you weren't speaking to Gordon. He's on the same level as Shank while Dynamo is on the ground level. He's some sort of leftover from the Crepitus quest and all he ever says is "leave me alone".

Oh what the hell!

Yeah. That would be him.

*sigh*

.....so.....where abouts on the ground level? I cleared the place out and didn't notice anyone. He definitely in the main cell block?

edit:
Nevermind, he's right out in the open, I can't believe I didn't see him. Always assumed he'd be down below I guess.

Ditto. I think it may be the most rediculously silly thing I've ever committed to the internet.
tbh I think I just assumed the nicknames didnt necessarily get used for dialogue windows (having not spoken to many recruitables yet) as well as him just looking a bit like matt. And dialogue only usually coming up if it's meant to lead somewhere. Hadn't considered him being a leftover from sci-fi.....

Does gordon have more to say in the crepitus quest then? I've not tried sci-fi yet....
