Is it possible to increase the amount med kits and first aid kits can heal before they run out ?

EDIT : And also, is it possible to alter the ap penalty received when carrying backpacks ?

Not at home so i cannot do it myself.
Try to use XML editor in the game folder, find the medkit item and see if it has any parameters related to its logievity.
Also, try to look for ini settings in ini editor relative to medical skil, maybe they have something that changes this (since the amount of medikit use corellates to your skill - more skill lets you heal more using the same amount of medikit %)

Ah right, skills ! I looked everywhere except there ... Thanks !

What about backpacks ? any idea bout that ? I want to reduce the penalty when carrying it ... As it stands, i don't use backpacks at all because it takes too much AP from my mercs to do stuff and i find that my merc already have too few ap to start with (in comparison to the AI) ...
The Ambidextrous skill has WORK_BACKPACK_AP_REDUCTION which as far as i know is related to the opening/closing the backpack in combat which is fine as it is, that i dont mind but having a permanent penalty on my ap for carying a backpack is a no no for me ...

You know you are not really supposed to wear backpacks during combat right?

Just drop them at the beginning of TB, there is a quick drop icon next to the zipper icon.

I know you can drop them and all that and saying that the ap reduction is "way too low" is a mather of perspective/situation/opinions imo.
Anyway, point here is that i dont want alternatives to it, as in drop it at the start of the mission or "get used to it", i want to know if its possible to alter this, thats all ...

Not sure about the medkits, but I think you can adjust the ap penality for backpacks using the xml editor unless ChrisL hardcoded those values.

Medkits are solved, as Istrebitel said, i changed the "doctor" skill as it had MEDICAL_BAG_CONSUMPTION_BY_SURGERY but for the backpacks, i couldn't find anything in the xml editor related to the penalty thing
