As I didn't want to triple post in the AFS thread, and it seemed more relevant here just a quick update - contrary to my initial plans I'm delaying the start of reworking AFS into the next UC-1.13, I decided to actually try a campaign and found that the anti-vehicle balance is a little off (also the AT hand grenades don't seem to work against jeeps in-game). At the same time I've decided to add two new "systems" to the mod:
1) 40mm Alsetex Cougar MS grenade launcher - magazine fed (sort-of) launcher
- one round without the magazine attachment (there is a technical reason why this had to be done, I'll explain later...)
- magazine attachment adds four more and these may be pre-attached (allowing compact storage of four rounds and quick reload of four)
- right now it all works except when the magazine is "unloaded," then all but one round from the magazine end up as loose inventory, but I figured out how to get reloading to work
- may form the basis of a revamp of the 20mm launchers to allow mixing of grenade types
2) MSBS
- if I'm going to add an entire family of conventional-bullpup convertible weapons to the mod(s), I better do it early on
- based on the graphics in the Jane's article it should be relatively easy to get the scale right (ie. scale for max pixels in the DMR version, then the rest are just barrel length, muzzle, and magazine edits)
- finally a non-Steyr AUG using the 42 round magazine (I'm not going to worry about it being an inaccurate depection of magazine capacity, the LMG versions will be in 42)
- coversion between conventional/bullpup via system similar to the AR reciever system already in the mod, though disassembly will dump the barrel too
- conversion between roles (carbine, DMR, LMG) via barrel selection
- low AP cost so it can be done during turn based
- may throw in the launcher to be complete
- may also throw in 7.62x39mm and 7.62x51mm options as well
EDIT: and yeah, the MSBS has been on the radar for a while, but the post in AIMNAS' suggestion thread got me moving.

Hello! Long time lurker here. Been playing 1.13 for a few years but just decided to try out AFS, impressed with the variety.
One thing which I think could add an interesting dynamic is the Barrett XM109, a semi-precision anti-material rifle that fires 25mm grenades. I suppose there's already something similar with the QLZ-87B, but I think the XM109 offers a more familiar western styling on the same concept, and Barrett seems a tad under-represented.
Another thing that i'm surprised to see absent, given the incredible variety of grenade launchers, is the pump action 40mm China Lake launcher. Would be a nice bit of flavor, getting the same satisfaction from chambering the next round on a shotgun, except with a high explosive shell.

Back when I was importing the QLZ-87B from IOV the XM109 was available as well, though it was left out because the High Velocity 25x59mm rounds seemed to be going nowhere - still hasn't gone as far towards adoption as the 25x40mm in the XM25. Also I was unsure how the QLZ-87B was going to be implemented in-game (is it a gun or is it a launcher?) That said it wouldn't take much to add another "gun" with exploding ammo.
A four shot pump action launcher, the EX41 also from IOV, was also imported in some time ago. It is only available used from BR's and from Devin. Oddly I suspect there are more XM109's in existence than those four shot pump action 40mm launchers.
EDIT: UC-1.13 item mod work has again stalled due to a "new" gun. Over the last few years a certain gun's absence from UC has bugged me. No more - the Nagant revolver (with the ability to attach a suppressor and horrible ready cost) is now in the base mod.

Sorry, I must have missed the EX41. BRs doesn't seem to sell used launchers for me.
Also, is it a prerequisite for the weapons to have generally seen use in real life then? You're right, the XM109 and all that are kind of special snowflakes. Information on the XM109 is rather vague, I've seen places claim the Ukrainian army has used it but no real substantiation. Barrett has also been quiet on the matter. Still, there's guns like the OICW and G11 in the game, and I like the idea of busting through a window with a 25mm tear gas round (bit of creative liberty there maybe) from a distance and hitting anyone who runs out of the building with a high explosive round.
Also, on the subject of revolvers, how about the Chiappa Rhino series? A DA revolver firing from the 6 o' clock cylinder designed by the same guy as the Model 6 Unica. Much more available here in America and for much, much cheaper. I like the 40DS the most myself but if you wanted a way to set it apart from other revolvers, the 60DS version has an integrated top and bottom picatinny rail. Some of the .357 models come with a 9x19mm conversion cylinder. I know the Mateba already comes with a rail, but perhaps it could be on an earlier coolness level, with a higher AP penalty since it's not an autorevolver?

Not really, considering I just added a DRDC/Colt Canada demonstrator (it is not even a prototype) - it caught my interest and it happened to use existing in-game ammo and the "magazine" system for launchers that I had just got working.
As an example of what may get in-mod, the Chippa Rhino has more going for it than another AR or AK clone:
- uses existing .38SPC/.357mag and 9x19mm six round ammunition items (these are in-game but there are comparatively few guns using these, I think only one in-mod for the later)
- fills niche of a rail covered revolver (I don't think there is anything else in mod that has this)
- the basic graphic is readily adaptable (specifically, from two base graphics, one black, one chrome, I can get nine items out of it)
Along the same lines a 40mm Russian illumination round fills a gap in the mod as well.
