The AI need "demolition" in is list of possible orders, if you "peekaboo door" the AI they blow the wall (and soldiers)... and no more AI abuse!
I think the way the AI "decide" put explosives in a door wall is like:
1- wall/door detected
3-plant explosive and run
Of course I have NO idea how this can be implemented.
Wish luck to the ones that are working on that, they already made a very good work with "suppression fire", I hate that one and the others AI advances ))

It's not hard at all, all you need is change MovementMode table or directly set needed movement mode in DetermineMovementMode, for example, in Ja2+AI enemy uses crawling movement mode sometimes.
The same goes to bandaging,would make it interesting if they could heal
