This thread is for general discussion on AIMNAS (Alpha Item Mod with New Attachment System... a.k.a Smeagol's Item Mod for 1.13 with Maps based on Wildfire//Big Maps test project).
Though it's not yet 2012, time to open a new thread. The big maps project will definately not get finished this year (and probably won't be next year either...).
For latest AIMNAS version follow this link to Tais' SCI's.
Thread 9 can be found here.
You can post special Item Requests either here or better yet in the AIMNAS Item Request Thread.
I usually read all the AIMNAS threads on a regular basis, even if I don't answer all of them immediately, I notice the stuff you post and might eventually come back to it.
New players that need general information what AIMNAS is or who need install instructions follow this link to the FAQ.
I might move the Gun list, the Merge list and the Scope Sight Range chart to the FAQ later on as well.
DepressivesBrotTo end the confusion risen over the last days and the multiple internal development versions, smeag asked me to pack a cleared up v25 TESTVERSION.
>>>Download v25<<<
Installation:
1) Follow the instructions given in the HAM-Thread to get a working installation thereof.
2) Download v25 and unpack it to that folder
NOTE:
This is a test version of the new HAM features (transformations, primarily) as well as the Big Maps. It still does NOT work with NCTH and ONLY the sectors marked with a red X on the strategic map are usable.
If you don't feel like testing, the current full release is still v21, get it here and drop it over a JA2 installation with Tais' latest unstable SCI.
Furthermore, any version you find elsewhere should be treated as a development version and you shouldn't get it unless you're a patient tinkerer or know what you're doing with regards to JA2 mods.

Smeagol,
You have a Remington 870 SPM (12 gauge) with two different pictures when we right click it. I don't know if one is just the pic of it with a stock or if they are two totally different guns.
Also, The bayonet feature is an older feature that wasn't incorporated into 1.13, but I see that you have added a bayonet for the AKM. Does this have any significance, or is it just another knife?

Fair enough. I assume the AA sights (not referring to the custom/EOTech whatever) are iron, and would not provide any zoom capability.
Maybe it's an issue with the JA2 distance calculation system in general? That is, the fact that properly simulating sight and firearm ranges would leave most assault rifles able to shoot across the map, sniper rifles would be redundant, etc. I know this is an inherent limitation of the engine (if not the game style itself), and thus outside anyone's ability to change. Still, it does make the MG3 pretty useless without a spotter, and therefore totally redundant if you have an FN MAG, which seems to drop earlier than the MG3 anyway.
With this in mind, why not just delete the MG3?

EDIT:
Seems the Danish army did install a Weaver rail on their M/62 (just a different name) though ... smeag, I want scopes on my MG3
Or this, yeah

Some of the polish MG3's mounted on Leo 2's are retrofitted with a Picatinny rail on the top cover. Can't find a picture to prove it though...
Also, i believe Noveske Leonidas is called N6, N4's are 5.56.

Hey Smeagol,
Big fan of your work, but I wanted to ask you if there was a fix underway for the interrupt (IIS) issue (freezing) with using Tais unstable SCI 4802 and AIMNAS v21? I like the idea that IIS conveys so having it disabled makes me feel like I'm not getting the whole experience, if that makes any sense.
Anyways I'll be looking forward for an answer and keep up the good work!

Taisv24 is only meant to be installed over a HAM5 installation, that could be the issue
Hi,
Thanks for your SCIs Tais.
So I should install clean v1.13, followed by your sci for ham 5: (stable_r1343_20111126_gdo) and ham 5.5.1?
Thanks for your replies as I am unsure how to properly install ham 5.

Hi - using Tais' SCI - any thoughts on why I cannot make the X ray detector? Specifically, I cannot get gum to attach to the fumblepack (the x-ray tube attaches no problem, and I've got the display unit made. Cheers.
ETA: have done a search on this, but no results for anyone else with the same problem.
