When we will have rifle grenades? I hope AIMNAS will support HAM again on later versions sooner or later..If I remember AFS did contain rifle grenades with a support of HAM.

Probably best to wait for a code implementation of rifle grenades. My item transform/special gun copy version has a lot of overhead in the XML's (every gun able to fire a rifle grenade needs a double with specialized attachments as well as the target cursor disabled). Worse part is after all that work, it really isn't a proper rifle grenade, it doesn't cost a bullet to fire. All HAM5 allows is an easier transformation back to normal gun mode.

Rifle grenades probably won't make it in, unless I decide to make a dedicated WW2 submod for AIMNAS (more likely than you might think, though... already changed item selection to the extend that tons of guns allows for everything and reduced arsenal only has WW 2 stuff... who knows, maybe I can convince someone to actually add a "item available based on time era tag" to the xml at some point.

Currently working on some new big maps (most recent project is a kingpin related drugfarm [which helped to convince Flugente to code the new drug system] and San Mona C6 is atm work in progress.

You could fudge the rifle grenades not consuming a round by claiming that a rifle-grenade-launching blank is packaged with each grenade, and the AP cost for the transformation includes loading the blank into the rifle. Not all rifle grenades needed special blanks, but it doesn't break believability for most users.

Is the 25 round capacity for balance? In AFS/UC-1.13, I set the standard .300 BLK magazine to 30 rounds so that it could make use of the existing 5.56x45mm C-Mag adapter. Not sure if the larger bullet prevents it from using real Beta C-Mags, but the .300 BLK is supposed to fit/feed reliably from the same magazines as 5.56x45mm. EDIT: what I wanted to say was that .300 BLK is supposed to fit the same magazines as 5.56 with no loss in capacity.

Looks interesting, though I had to look up .300 AAC. Wink

Will that gun be available 'off the shelf' (i.e. Bobby Ray's) or must it be found somewhere?

Due to the changes the update to a new map editor / exe release required, it will take a while. I basically have to replace all enemies and NPCs in all the maps made so far. Of those, only 4 maps (all 4 Omerta sectors) have been done yet, because i also reworked those 4 maps quite a bit...

So it's around 40 more maps that still need enemies and NPCs placed back into them. Also maps still lack items, so no need to search containers yet. I hope this will change as soon as I have the first 4 rows done (A-D), but that will also still take quite a while... I guess the whole WF2011 turned more or less into a WF"Lifetime". :/

Out of curiosity, are there any thoughts of including some of the items from AIMNAS in the base 113? Some of the weapons and attachments and particularly the greatly expanded number of LBEs would IMO add a great deal of necessary flair to it.

On an unrelated note I don't understand why there are some weapons that can't fit in any pockets, not even the main weapon pocket. I understand that it might be there to limit gamey tactics of having one big gun in your hand and another in that pocket, but I think that the weight of these big guns is enough of a deterrent already, plus I like having nothing in my mercs hands when I'm in a calm sector and that's sth I just can't do if my main gun doesn't fit in my gun pocket.

That said, I still was ok with it until I decided to give my sniper the sniper backpack to store her rifle, I thought I'd keep an mp7 in her main gun pocket and keep the sniper in the backpack, I can't access the backpack in combat so it would be a good way to be more methodical and all(though being able to access the backpack albeit at a very high ap cost would make more sense imo), then I try to put her osv-96 in the backpack only to find out it doesn't fit in the sniper pocket... what's the point of a sniper pocket then?

I wouldn't mind if the big guns needed to be taken apart or whatever to fit in the pocket(this is probably possible with HAM5), I think it would make sense anyway that these guns need to be prepared before you use them and that's why there are sidearms for those ambushes, but I just can't understand the reasoning of not being able to fit them anywhere.

PS Smeagol, can you maybe tell me what I need to alter to make it possible for the osv-96 to fit in the sniper pocket?

EDIT: Its ok, I think I found out how to do it myself.

1)The "gun pocket" represents a sling and it was decided that some really big guns (mainly GPMGs and AMRs) shouldn't be carried slung on your back at no penalty whatsoever.
2)You can access your backpack in combat, there's a button that vaguely resembles a zipper.
3)The OSV-96 is a frigging cannon, it's like, the longest gun in the game.

And the solution to that was that they should be carried in their hands all the time? But that makes even less sense.

There still has to be a way to carry it, even if you have to take it apart.

You take them apart I guess. Besides you said there was no penalty, but what about the weight? An FN MAG weighs like 10kgs, more than double what most assault rifles do. There is a penalty. Also there is the ap cost to ready a gun.

You can't just take a rifle apart and expect it to hit after putting it back together. And a 10kg MAG is peanuts for a guy like Grizzly, that doesn't make it any less unwieldy and restrictive when moving around.
Edit: We could use a carry frame for oversized cannons though, we even discussed it when revising sizes ... @smeag did you drop the idea or did you just forget it (as usual Wink )

Well, I do take my inspiration for that idea from movies, so I don't really know how accurate it is, seems to make sense though. And Grizzly is like the exception anyway, not that I would ever give an FN MAG to Grizzly, he is a heavy weapons dude.
Anyway, carry frames sound good too, just sth that would make a bit more sense than what's going on now.

Movies are made by californians. California has all but banned guns, so not many Californians know much about guns. This is why glocks can make Tue hammer pull sound in movies, guns can be assembled and scoped in a balcony and be dead accurate without rezeroing the gun, and guys can carry and fire an m60 in each hand while running and not even have problems with barrel travel. Hollywood is a really bad choice as a gun reference.

There still has to be a way of carrying such big guns other than holding them in your hands the entire time. Until that way is implemented, let it be possible to sling carry them.

If you're using the old maps, there's one in Chitzena SAM. Otherwise, Bobby Ray is always a good bet.

AIMNAS is one nice Mod and I love the "minecrafting" with the mustard gas grenades and the Eagles.
But! Question from me is: What are my chances to see AIMNAS including the tripwires and directional Claymores with fragmentation from SVN build 5280 (Build number may be wrong, don't kill me for it!)? The mines you can craft by now with gum and some grenades are good, yet they need to be triggered manually or they blow up with a timed detonator. Tripwire offers some ways to "place and forget" some complex minefields if such a thing is deemed neccessary. Yet 5280 only offers limited variety for things to go BOOM, while AIMNAS on the other hand gives plenty.

As for me, I would like to use both tripwires with plenty of different bombs and mines. Will this be done, has it been done already or is it planned being done in the near or far future? I'm curious about this, because I simply love to tinker around with mines ingame and tripwire + Eagles would make my day. Very Happy

Has been done, the only question is when he'll release it. Which may yet take a whiles since some other code changes made it necessary to repopulate all sectors.

I see... Well, I can wait for now, I still have to test how to build a tight defense with just claymores. Another question: Are there any threads about triggerwire strategies/trapsets yet? I'd like to read opinions and tips from other "Minesweeper". Razz

Don't now of any... Perhaps you want to start one? Be sure to also use overlapping wires, and hierarchical wiring.

And take note that you can merge any standard grenade (MK2, Mini, Tear Gas/Smoke/Mustard Gas and Vacuum) with tripwire to get a makeshift tripwire mine. So you can make mustard mine fields if you like Smile

That ... sounds a bit too abusive of the underlying system. Detonating something and firing something are very different in the code.
