took about 35 hours - but beat it! It actually wasnt bad. Starts to pick up once you get the rythem of it. AI isnt the greatest and there is a huge lack of different types of guns (JA 2 1.13 guys need to do their magic again) and it seemed like i only had the choice between 4 mercs to start with (most wont even work with you). But the game play was actually pretty entertaining. And dressing up the mercs in outfits made it worth it too (tired of beater shirts). Couple questions i had for anyone else that already played it....

- has anyone found the Da Honkos Flake limited edition yet?
- I found the G11 rifle at the end of the game (easily the best assault rifle), in Meduna's maze. Has anyone found it else where?
- Does anyone know whats up with the alternante ending? the quest failed right after i got it (i.e. the evil scientist).
- anyone know where to get 40mm gernade rounds?

Wish they had some more mercs with better traits....the RPC's seemed to be crappy too except for Iggy and Dynamo. Conrad is useless. They need to get A.I.M. back...

Use 66mm missle from LAW for M79, it seems that publisher rushed release and they use same type of ammo.

lol, thanks. I should have known that rockets fit in a gernade launcher. Definitely seemed rushed in some areas but a decent engine. Luckily its on steam and they can just auto update and add some more content....hopefully

Most mercs will work for you after a bit of progress and the old buddy trick still works too.
But yeah, seems they have even less calibers than Vanilla JA2 ... and only one ammo type ... and only one 'stack of ammo' for that matter ... better stop before I get into rant mode Smile

well if we all remember the days before ja 1.13 *gasp*, they didnt have any ammo variations at all. It was like the germans took this game piece by piece from the 1998 original and remade it with new graphics. Oh well. Biggest thing they forgot was an exploding head from a point blank shot Sad

but i did appreciate how gernades and submachine guns were more essential.

Not true. Vanilla already distinguished between AP, HP and FMJ/Ball. They did have the same issue with eastern block 7.62mm though ... funny how of all the things they cut, that stupidness survived.

Even though they forgot the exploding heads, your mercs do acknowledge 3/4 of their kills with their respective 'Ewww - messy' quote - fucking annoying.

ha true, you can even dig more into the game and look at the A.I.M. info about the contracts. "we offer 2 week, 1 week and 1 day loan options....". Pretty sure they just copied and pasted that (as well as the profile bios).

Hi,

Weapons are too big. They are not at the scale that the characters. So, it's not so immersuve as the real JA.

There is less triggers in the game, so it's too bad.

But I'm still going on to play.

Not to give the wrong impression, ja2 is way better than this game, but this game actually is much closer than ja2 to actual weapon size scaling. In real life many rifles like the m14, the FN fal, the h&k 21, and especially all the snipers are actually really big.

Of the guns listed above, the fal is the shortest coming in at just 3 inches under 4ft which is 2/3 of your average man's height. If anything some of the guns are still to small in this game. You are just not used to them being this big and so it looks funny.

What else, as every body said , no helicopter, no car. That's just boring.

But more important, no screen for object to be taken. I'have to run every where to pick them up!

Yup, that really REALLY annoying.
I have to run everywhere to pick items, and swapping item between mercs is annoying, too.

Hope, the sector inventory will come soon.(they said it will come in future patch)

IIRC : Balime Slums, Easternmost house, in kitchen

Balime Slums Shopkeeper (western part of map)

You have 24 hours to grab "Dr Pippin's report" from Warehouse east of Grumm industrial park and bring it to the Hospital

to those who dont want to crawl past the upper floors of the meduna palace to get their hands on queen, its possible to stand and shoot few bullets from the small "hill" between the 1st guard tower and the first line of building as there's direct line of sight to the queens "house" front doors.

I used sniper rifle to put few bullets to the doors and the queen just runned all the way down to my mercs and got ambushed with 3 machineguns of mine. ^^
