Ja 2 1.13 works great as portable game compared to those that require directx etc.

But still I would like to see graphics to something similar view as "company of heroes" without actually changing the game.

I prefer male IMPs. Maybe it is possible to change making of IMP, so instead one AIM character is selected and custom built as IMP. That would also get more AIMs never used into play...

Upgrade sound without actually changing already done recordings.

Change game mechanics so that long range weapons are more useless on close range, so that pistols come more handy.

I think you might be asking a lot from the poor, unpaid modders of JA2 with some of those (1&3). As for No. 4... Have you tried playing with AIMNAS? It takes a good step in the right direction for me. Assault rifles are still extremely versatile, but a dedicated sniper either needs a pistol, a buddy, or a coffin if anybody closes range with him.

Already exists in the latest builds as far as I can tell. Since the implementation of scope modes, a 10x scope is utterly useless in close range where an iron sight owns surpreme. So I'd like to invite you to download the latest build(5354, not 4870) to see for yourself that this feature already is in place.

Edit: You can find it here:

As usual, I'm wondering if some people even grasp what they are asking others to do ...

Ask any religious person and they'll do it for free, because else it won't benefit them in heaven. Ask any bored person and they'll do it for free, when they're bored. Ask a business minded and they'll do it when they see the idea; you'll just have to wait for a crack to get it free then.

I got the game on a portable drive and I use internet shops to play it. The game run fine, but the editor won't start.

Religious programmer, that's a good one Very Happy

As for the editor, use a plaintext editor and check Data-1.13\Tabledata\Mercprofiles.xml

According to Smuck's reasoning, we'll just have to ask him to get this "customize AIM into IMP" feature: He is bored of IMP, so he'll do it for free if asked ... Wink
