When trying to take a sector silently, I tend to leave guards at the dead bodies so they can kill anyone that wanders close enough to find the corpse. That got me wondering on whether or not there could be a way to drag a body around so you could hide it somewhere really out of sight. Not that it would be as useful if guard unit radio check-ins happen at short enough intervals, but it might buy some extra time here and there.
This also ties in to an idea I had for an addition to the close combat system. In addition to punches and weapon attacks, would it be feasible to have throws and/or strangleholds? I doubt interrogation would really be necessary to add, but a stranglehold might help if you don't have a dart gun and wanna steal stuff, and it would help move the soldier around a corner relatively silently.
That being said, I do imagine that this would take a lot of animation work, so it would have to be worth the effort. What do you guys think?

tazpnRegarding moving bodies, I occasionally want this from time to time just to move bodies out of line of sight. I dont think its worth adding animation because we have hard enough time getting combat animation in let alone something like this.
I would suggest that instead of adding animations, just use the inventory system for this (like Baldur's Gate 2 did). Allow bodies to be added to inventory as a new icon. Maybe use the existing heads initially? The restriction would be it could only be placed in the hands slot as a two handed weapon.
I would think that the movement restriction would have to be lifted so that you could still walk when overloaded but other actions like swimming or climbing would not be allowed. I would probably also not allow moving in stealth (or may be force it to slow down the merc).
This could be useful if the AI is ever improved to be extra careful around a mass grave at the entrance to a door.
+1 to this, as it sounds as a really simple system of doing this
Also, one thing to point there - what about blood? Anyone considering leaving blood on the spot that brings enemy attention (but probably without raising an alarm), or just make it commandos-way where there is no trail of the body?
Oh yea, and for those who played Commandos 2 or 3 - there's a lot to learn from it about moving bodies, concealing bodies, strangling, stealing and generally - being silent
