The XM-25 and other 25mm grenade launchers function more like Rifles/Cannons in real life than like conventional grenade launchers.

They should use a flat trajectory and a high speed projectile.

They also have a bit of anti-armor ability, with the HEDP (High Explosive Dual Purpose) round they can penetrate over 50mm of RHA; this defeats most APCs.

To my knowledge, only the XM25 implementation in my mods (AFS/UC-1.13/DL-1.13) make use of the explosive ammo feature that allows it act as a direct fire weapon. The XM29 and K11 in my projects however still use the earlier v1.13 multi-shot grenade feature for the 20mm launchers.

With Flugente's under slung gun feature it would be feasible to implement the 20mm launchers as direct fire (flat trajectory) weapons.

Alternatively, I was discussing with Smeagol a while back using NAS to make each round 20mm and 25mm rounds discrete grenade rounds, however resulting in both being arcing (lobed trajectory) weapons.

I suppose someone could convert the XM25 into a gun weapon, and set it up to use the explosive ammo in stock v1.13, if only as a reminder that the exploding ammo feature exists. That or someone can grab the FRAG-12, tear gas and incendiary 12gauge shells from my projects as a demo of this feature. Slightly less work.

I'm tabbing through the XML editor to see if I can implement explosive ammo but coming up empty; I'm not extremely familiar with it yet.

I'll be playing UC next, but classes have started up soon... no ideal when next is : p
